Hey guys, just ran across this thread, got room for one more on the trip to Rock Trails?

I am still fairly new to TW, and have been wanting to meet some fellow Tacoma people in the North Texas area.

    Cool, thanks!

Also, is everyone showing up at 8:30am when the park opens? Id like to get there between 8:30am and 9:00am, just to get a good day in at the park, I haven't been to this one; or even heard of it actually. Also, anyone in the Dallas area want to caravan down to the park? I live just north of downtown Dallas, near Northpark Mall off US-75 (Central Expy).

And I have skimmed through the thread, but what is the consensus on lunch? Is it every man for themselves?

I think Zech is bringing a grill to cook some burgers and we are gonna chip in some $ for the grub.
I live just off i20 if you want to meet up on the west side of Arlington to caravan out.

Plenty of rocks and trails for everyone. Always good to have another Marine also.

I'll be there at 8:30am; when it gets closer I'll shoot you my phone number so you can call when you get closer. It seems like most of the DFW people are going to make it between 9 and 10 so we'll probably hang close to the front around then. Do you have a CB radio or one of the "lease" type radios?

Yep; bringing a small grill to cook some burgers on. I'll bring the burgers and stuff for them (ketchup/mustard/cheese/buns); we'll see who else can bring other stuff as it gets closer.

Other than that; don't forget to check in at the Texas BS section. That is where most of this stuff starts.

How are you driving down Aaron? Down 377? Since I live in north FTW, I'll probably take loop 820 around to 377, and head down from there.

I'll probably stop just east of Granbury, at the propane place.

I'm hoping to get the trailer on Friday night, if they'll let me, and loading up that night. Probably head that way about 8.

Be careful in Tolar - those cops look at cars like ATMs on wheels.

    Thanks.

Yes, I have a CB radio. Do we want to establish a channel now for everyone to make it easier to meet up at the park in the morning?

Cool, I'm good to chip in on burgers, and I dont mind bringing sides such as chips for everyone too.

    Will do.

Channel 21 seems to be a popular channel.

I first read this and was wondering why you would be headed south to get to Bridgeport this Sunday... I keep getting the weekends confused. I think I need another beer to straighten this all out, lol.

I was having a hard time deciding between that Cobra or the Midland Model 75. When I got $50 of Best Buy gift cards for free it made up my mind to go with the Midland. It is only going to cost me around $30 once it is done. Plus it has the battery pack so I can take it with me on my person if need be.

I do have to go through town to get ice and gas that morning. I'm still debating if I want to get breakfast burritos that morning or not.

I'm gonna take the cobra 75 from the Tacoma, and put in the trail rig. At least for this trip.
