Help with identifying lift...

First off I'd like to say that i am new to TW, so pardon my ignorance. I was driving home from flying at work a couple of weeks ago and saw a sweet 06 dbl cab at the dealership...At the time I owned a 08 reg cab 4x4 and loved it,but needed more room in the cabin. So long story short I drove it home the next day...I planned on lifting my 08 but didn't know one thing about lifts and didn't want to throw my money away if i was gonna upgrade down the road. If anyone could help with telling me how high of a lift I have on the truck and if the lift is worthy i would greatly appreciate it...Thx

Yup, looks like one of those cheap Procomp lifts. I'd consider getting something of better quality if you can.

 

Agreed with these guys. My buddy has that setup and he says he really likes it. Beats a spacer lift.

I highly recommend getting uca's! You're stock one looks like it has no down travel left.

i recommend camburg or total chaos.

will it cause any problems if i run with stock uca for a while?

 

nope, but some people cant get it into allignment spec.

 

Not right away, but it can lead to premature ball joint failure and your alignment will be off. I ran without UCA's for a couple years and my ball joints were toast! The last thing you want is a ball joint failing you when going 75mph on the freeway

Camburg sells a "ball joint" style uca that let's you use your stock ball joint's or you can upgrade your bj's to a nice pair of Moogs and they'll be bullet proof.

 

Have that same lift on mine.. Toyota dealers puts them on.. had to figure out what mine was too. No complaints with mine. remove the swaybar and its even better. I take mine through some pretty nasty trails and climbs. Handles it just fine. I'm running stock UCAs as well. no issues.

 

x2 on removing the swaybar. It will soften the ride up and add a bit of travel.

I still recommend a uca, though. Ofcourse you won't see any issues right away, but you will further down the road.

 

Yeah I'm sure, not disagreeing with you.. hard to justify 400 bucks for even the cheapest ones when right now I don't really NEED them ya know. My cv angles are fine too.

 

you'll really love taking the sway bar off after you roll your lifted, top heavy truck.

 

If you can't control the truck.. then yeah, don't take It off.
