    ^^^^^ I agree wholeheartedly. SWEET looking truck!!!

I just put my cap back on for the winter. Actually did it for the Labor Day weekend of camping in the rain. I lost a half a mile per gallon, but it gives me weather-proof, lockable storage of hunting gear.

    Pics!

Fully paid off, fully pays for it self, full time expedition / overland work truck. Fully self contained, off the grid for up to two weeks without moving and still have power, water, freezer, fridge, 235 watts of solar, 100W of it deployable and removable for better angle in Winter. Stove and heater run off of 20 pound propane tank. Since going to higher solar output and a AC/DC fridge, we have used half a tank of propane since April and have done about 150 days in the truck in expo mode. Pop-up camper is an All Terrain Bobcat, 690 pounds un-accessorized / dry, 1,050 fully loaded, has a slide out queen sized bed, can sleep one with lid down in stealth mode.

130,000 miles on a 2005, 75,000 with TRD supercharger, URD 2.825 pulley, GEN-1 TRD intake, fuel mods. Camburg 2.5's / Icon Billet UCA's with ball joint cup modified with grease fittings in the front, Icon in the back with Alcan springs, Ride Rite air bags in back. 3 GPS units, full tools, etc. We use this truck at average elevations of 8,000-12,000 feet, as high as 13,000 and then down to sea level and even lower ( Death Valley every two years ). It sees temps between -25 to 100....hate the heat, avoid it like the plague...

This week we install an Aluminess front bumper, raw finish to match the front wind fairing. Pull the blower to put in new spark plugs, blower belt, new nose drive oil, clean out the blower impellers, cavity, intercooler and install a TTC catch can. Also installing a Walbro 255 fuel pump for when we are in lower altitudes to prevent lean outs.

Could possibly be installing a D4-D from Dieseltoyz in 2015-17 or when it hits 200K, blows up, etc... Second to last pic is the new bigger primary panel, 135 watt....our fridge / freezer has been on since July...

Working out of it is my day job...;)

Your truck looks nice, but it looks like you need some off-road tires.

I thought I read somewhere that for whatever reason you couldn't put a slide in camper in a DC, so I don't think they make one to fit. My guess is maybe too much of the weight is too far behind the rear axle. :notsure: I vaguely remember this topic when I had my quad cab Ram.

I have gone through the first twenty some pages hoping to see a picture of someone's Silver who has painted the rails below the two doors, (normally hidden by the side steps) but have not found one yet. Can anyone point me in the right direction. i was hoping to perhaps do that mod this weekend but wanted to see if anyone else has done it yet.

    Silver all the way.

I go out west every year, and post a pic from one of the trails..
This year it's from Pearl Pass. It goes from Crested Butte, over to Aspen.
I didn't know when I started, but it is most difficult pass I've tried yet.

The bed is exactly the same and the weight would be distributed the same on a Longbed as a standard bed. (Again, Standard bed & Longbed are the same! 73.5") YES, you need to up the suspension to handle the weight. I have the Dakar Rear Leaf Springs and they would handle it. I just could not handle the price! ($9,900 to start!)

Wow! Those tires look like highway tires. I guess some tire companies will call anything A/T to get people to buy them. Even my GoodYear Silent Armor Tires had more off road tread. Now I have COOPER DISCOVERER STT tires. They have great off-road tread.

Also over the years I think they've made A/T's with more and more aggressive tread patterns. Some "all terrain" tires really aren't that far off from a mud terrain.
