So here is the ad I placed on Craigslist this morning:

2002 Toyota Tacoma Xtra-Cab 4X4, maroon with tan cloth interior
V6 with TRD Supercharger, dealer installed
    Manual 5-SpeedTransmission
    119,500 miles
    New tires Spring of 2011
Seperate set of studded winter tires mounted on steel wheels included in sale

Well maintained, synthetic oil since new

I purchased this truck new, and sold it to my Father in 2004. He passed away last Spring, so i am selling it for our family.

    Asking $8,000

I've now received 6 inquiries, of which are practically willing to buy the truck sight unseen. Am I selling myself short? I didn't realize the TRD Supercharger is in such high demand! Obviously I want to get as much as I can for my family, as were splitting it 3 ways. What should I be asking?

FWIW, If you set a price, you should stick to the set price. Advertising, or agreeing on a price, then jacking it up, is a shitty thing to do.

Sorry for no pics. Truck is not at my house.

I understand your position on price, but please understand that I'm trying to help my stepmother settle my father's estate, and unfortunately every penny counts. I admit that I didn't do my research, but felt pressured by the estate attorney to sell the truck, which I've been avoiding for sentimental reasons.

I never agreed on a price. I posted a price, and within 6 hours in rural VT, I've had 8 "serious" inquiries. So my bad. But I'm in the situation I'm in, and dealing with it as best I can.

Thanks for moving to the proper forum. I appreciate it.

Hmmm something just seems fishy about this. If it's to good to be true, it usually is.

Givin the truck is in good to excellent condition, I think you should have been in the $11-$12K range. But I agree with chris, stick to your guns.

Nothing fishy here. Out of the 8 serious inquiries, 2 seemed to be real tacoma enthusiasts, and were specifically looking for a supercharged taco.

They're both coming to look at it today. I'm asking them to put in a "sealed bid" after looking the truck over, test driving, etc. I'm not trying to inflate the price by going back and forth between buyers. Highest bid will get the truck with no further negotiating. That way, the buyer will decide on the fair selling price. They've both been in the market for this generation Taco, and both hoping for a supercharged version. So they are familiar with market for the truck, and can bid accordingly.

Also, I'd say the truck is closer to average condition than excellent. There is a little rust developing on the front bumper, the wheels have some pitting & stains, interior is an 8 as there were seat covers on for most of the truck's life. So I think $11-12K is probably a bit high. I'm guessing $8,500-9,500, but I'll let the buyers decide!
