Last night the wife came home to find the garage had been broke into:mad:.Thank God the neighbor came home to suprise them and scared them off b/4 the wife came home. The best part is they did not get into the house got some damage to screen door and entery door but deadbolts did their job.Now we are putting chain across the drive and soon to add electric gate and alarm system. The funny thing is that the neighbor who stopped them has a rental house and just rented it to new tenants less than 30 days ago,8 yrs and never had a problem, can't point fingers but it does seem funny:rolleyes:.Hope weneve have this problem again.

    neglect, mostly.
i swear it's NC man. my area has been having tons of break ins over the past 2 months when we've never had them before. a lot of it is metal scrapping. there have been over 6 churchs in my area that have had the air conditioners stolen in the past month. you know where they caught the guy? scrap yard. he had stolen 52,000 dollars worth of A/C units and selling them all for $1,000. . . glad they didn't get you bad. i would go to a sign shop and have a AT&T sign made and put it in the front yard. :D

I pay 21.95 a month for my alarm system. It does come with the nice big sign out front and the protection window stickers. its worth every penny. I work grave shift, so i want my wife and kids safe as possible. It also has the smoke/carbon monoxide detectors built in.

If a fire breaks out, the alarm company calls the fire dept to the house before calling us. Its possible that the fire dept could be there before my family even wakes up which i like not being there all the time.

Its not full proof, but other houses on my street have been hit and we havent. We also have two dogs, they bark like hell, but would probably lick the shit out of broke in. From outside....they sound scarey though.

I also have a sign that says, the dog can make from the house to the fence in 2.3 seconds...can you? just little deterents. Put yourself in the scumbags shoes...which house would you hit? The one with all that going on, or the quiet one with no markings. One last thing...it would hurt to just outside and flip the fuck out every now and then. You now just became the crazy nieghbor which people tend to shy away from. :D

    Get the Alarm...

Our house was broken in to about 18 months ago. I invested in a camera system since we live out in the country and alarm response time is so slow.

Sorry that you are going through this.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
This happened here in Buffalo. I love retired Cops with guns...

Neighbors of retired Buffalo Police Officer Donald Miller say his presence has always given them a sense of security.
That feeling was reinforced with a sense of relief Thursday afternoon when Miller fatally shot one of two robbers who threatened him in front of his East Side home.
One thief pulled out a gun, and a scuffle started shortly before 12:45 p.m. on John Paul Court, just off William Street. Miller pulled out his handgun, for which he has a permit, and shot the man in the upper torso, according to authorities.
The dead robber was identified by police as Cortney Gordon, 30, of Buffalo

I have a friend who lives near Raeford, NC(crime riddled, ghetto pit). He seems to have fairly decent theft proof system. sign at the front of his driveway (he's back off the road.) Says "stop no trespassing." If you go past this sign, it activates a motion sensor which rings in the house, giving him plenty of time to get his .357 ready. If all that fails, he has 2 big ass german shepherds.

Aint gonna help ya if ya aint at home, now is it?

Security system, big dog, deadbolts on everything. These are the staples of living peacefully and having a peaceful mind when there's no one at home to protect your stuff.

If you happen to get past the above 3 while i'm not at home......your welcome to any and all of whatever I have.

If you happen to get past 1 of the above while i'm at home, no if's and's or but's.......you will not be leaving the same way that you came in. Two words "Castle Law". If your state doesn't have it, you still have time to lobby it before december of next year. Call your congressman, yesterday.

    Funny, but relevant.
My next door neighbor has a pit. Not sure of it's age but it's pretty beefy yet still has the lil dog bark. Hopefully it will hit puberty soon and be my tier 2 alarm.

haha mine didnt get his till a month or so over 1 yr old, he a little pip squeak bark at first, then it changed on day mid bark, he stopped barked again, discovered it changed then went on a barking spree for the next two days and settled down. He likes to hear himself bark, i have a big fluffy couch, when he was a pup he would bury his head in the cushions and bark since he wasnt allowed to cuz i lived in an apartment, it muffled his bark enough where it wasnt loud, he would do that for like an hour, it was pretty funny to watch.

hes an excellent car alarm too, he lets nothing get too close.

    ha! That's cute!!
I guess I should prepare myself for that 2 week barking spree because it can't be to far away. Gonna be rough on this 3rd shifter. :(
