I will say I'm sorry and not make such a mistake again...

I went to test a few of the ones ya'll mentioned.

The Kickers I liked were ok for the music I listen to. They seemed to only sound well when they were very overpowered. In any case, I don't think i'll go this way...

Listened to some JBL's, though I don't think I was able to listen to the particular one ya'll suggested. Good sound.

Then I went to some Type R's, with a 1000 W Amp. I fell in love... I loved how these sounded. I turned it up and there was no distortion whatsoever. I tested it with my music, and it played perfect. In the test I was using the speakers I have installed in my Tacoma, so I know it was close to what it was going to sound like when installed.

So now I'm between the JBL GTO's, and the Type R's.

Problem now is space. Following Italyn's suggestion of doing it below the rear seats, I went today and took everything out and measured. Holy shit that is tight as hell. 6 1/2 Inches deep and exactly 8 Inches wide. That is not including the fiberglass I need to do in the area to seal it up. Im guessing the Baffle might give me like 1/2 and inch to play with in depth.

Not sure if my measurements sound correct. I'm going to try and go to a place where they have the 8's (cause no one in PR has 8's to sell, apart from the ones they have for testing... retarded is it not?, they have 10 and up...) and drop it in to see how the space looks.

We'll see how this turns out.

Thank you all for the suggestions BTW, really helped me a lot, specially due to my ignorance in this subject.

    Quick update.

Since I fell in love with the Type R's... I went to crutchfield and checked with them about the measurements. Gave them the measurements I had and set everything up.

I have subs on the way!!! Now to grinding and fiberglassing!!! :headbang:MWAHAHAHAHAHA...

Ok... sorry... Just excited about my upcoming project... :bananadead:

Going to hook those up to a 1000 W Alpine and my door speakers to a 300 W Alpine, for 75W per speaker.

Dude, 4.5" deep is actually pretty damn good! One thing I'll say about the older type R's is that they will just eat up power and sound good doing it. The older ones were very very popular because they performed well and were very reasonable with regards to price. I'm very interested to see how your build turns out!

Can't go wrong with Type R's. They are a very close 3rd for my favorite subs. Can't wait to see the install!

Bass isn't everything. If you add more bass, you need to add more to the rest of the stereo. Stick with head unit power and, well.... I think you get the idea.

Get some high powered components, amp em, and you won't have that problem. My door speakers almost put out as much mid-bass as my subwoofer does, but on a different range of course.

I see what you mean. I have to say I agree, even with my untrained ears concerning professional audio.

Right now I have Type S components and to be honest they have done far better than I expected. The mid bass?... coming from these things is ridiculous for not being powered by an actual amp. My 3200 only puts like ~20 RMS into them, if even that.

So I can't wait to see how they sound under 75 RMS. If they sound as good as im hoping they will, based on my experience with them so far, then i'll need to think of a way to blow them up, so I can upgrade to Type R components... :D

As a side note... I'm anxious as hell waiting for the shit that is coming in the mail.

Only part not covered is the deadening. I can't get Raammat to ship to PR, perhaps I could if I was able to contact them. Dynamat seems like the way I will go... Fatmat scares me a bit... it would be a hell of a lot cheaper, seeing as I can get 100 ft for like 120 bucks... but I am wary about the quality.

Finally I have not been able to find any foam type insulators, like the ones ItalynStalyn has talked about in other threads and the ones that are suggested in sounddeadenershowdown.com

Would I be ok if I found some foam of the type they use in sound studios? It would be really thick, although it is very squishy and i'd have to see how the hell I would trim it to fit, but it is the only option I see so far. I'd be scared of my truck catching fire though... it would be so fucking flammable... :bananadead:

Ill post pics as soon as I'm able to do everything. Right now I have to wait a week or two, maybe a bit more for everything to get here.

    This is my setup:

    Pioneer 3200 BT

300 W Alpine, wired at 2 OHM to the front and rear speakers.

1000 W Alpine wired at 2 OHM to the 2 subs... They will be getting 150 RMS more than they should... I am not completely sure if this will fuck them up. But their peak is like 1000 RMS.

4 Gauge going to both Amps. No capacitor for now. Not sure if I need one. According to some of the experts here, they don't really do that much?

    12 Gauge to the subs.

    16 Gauge to the speakers.

    6x9 85 RMS Type S fronts mounted on *********.

    6 1/2 85 RMS Type S rear mounted on *********.

Dual 8 Inch 350 RMS Type R below the rear seats.

Dynamat or some other butyl thing... in the rear of cab, the doors, the roof and perhaps the floor.

Some foam type thing, that I can't seem to find, in the floor and the rear, and perhaps on the roof. I will not do the doors though.

I might work this weekend or the next in fiber-glassing the part below the rear seats and making the baffle. I am sure I will have to make a couple baffles as I will undoubtedly fuck them up at the beginning.

As a plus to this whole thing... I wanted to get leather... then I was not going to be able to... then I found out a client of mine does this shit... then I got hooked up... 2 Weeks and they will be mine. Yay!

So install wise... I think it will take me quite a few days to do all this once I get all the shit. So be patient and I will post a build or post pics in here.

Again, TY all for the help and suggestions!

    Yeah...

Hahahaha. I will go to Nuñez tommorrow... ill probably find anything that exists in the world in there... If not, there are plenty places in Caguas.

I haven't visited many shops to check for deadening in San Juan, cause they all want too much $$$. They getting used to all the peeps putting 30 subs and 40 amps in their XBs and shit...

But ill probably get what I need this weekend. What I'm missing is pretty much the foam/vinyl part of the deadening. Ill just get Dynamat or Fatmat for the other part of it.
