    Mark:
We can use the sun as well. Chance of rain keeps moving into next week. Om Monday it was till Thursday. Today it is into Saturday. Then when you look at the storms in the Atlantic there seems to be no relief in sight.

    Susan,

    Thank you!

Yep, always have been in Chicagoland area, but I'm thinking it is time to get out. This state is not moving in what I consider a positive direction.

The "Little Men" are my treasures. I also have another one (7 yo) that the Tacoma takes me to Texas to see.

Tacoma's are truly a rarity here. They are not marketed here, and I don't know whether they aren't marketed because they don't sell, or they don't sell because they aren't marketed. Tundra's are marketed here, and it is common to see them. Still, a mere drop in the bucket compared to the F150.

    Tom,

Also being a product of the '60's, I understand your feelings about chrome.
My Tacoma (also not an SR5), on the other hand, is virtually "chromeless", I believe the only chrome are the badges. There is some beauty in simplicity.

I too have a couple upgrades on the list. Today I'm going to do the rear view mirror/backup camera job. Then I'll be giving serious thought to doing the intermittent wiper upgrade. Intermittent wipers not standard ----- unbelievable!

Oatmeal chocolate chip with ice cold milk

The wiper upgrade was my second mod. I ordered the parts while I was on vacation right after I bought the Tacoma.

I literly picked up the Tacoma and parked it in the garage. The next day I went on a 2 week vacation.

The mod is very easy. The hardest part was taking off the shroud around the steering column, only because I was not familiar with the trim pieces on a Toyota. I came from a GMC Sonoma.

Every state has negatives, I happen to live in one that appears to be in a contest with a couple other states to see which one can self destruct first. Based on my beliefs, Illinois is not making corrections that will bring the state out of its nose dive, only changes that accelerate the nose dive.
There are other states that mesh better with my "Golden Years" priorities.
Although I would like to go now, I'm a few years away from pulling the trigger, but when I do, and if we are both still posting here, I will certainly share my state choice with you.

Well I was born, raised and lived in California for 50 years....and I (we) finally escaped and moved to Arkansas ten years ago. Now Arkansas is definitely not perfect, but "they" balance the budget every year. The housing market is absolutely booming with new houses all around us being built. As soon as they are built, they are sold. These are 3000 sf and in the high 300s to mid 400s. The housing crunch never really hit Arkansas like the rest of the country for some reason. A lot of people that think AR is just redneck hillbilly's are only a little right. There are so many multi-millionairs and a bunch of billionairs because of Walmart being HQ'd here. They still drive old dodge pickups....on the way to the bank!

In other words....I don't miss California.

Actually that's not true. I miss California the way it was 40 years ago!

Rob I think it is safe to say we all miss the way it was 40 years ago.

Good morning Mark and everyone. Chance of showers is 40% today in the DC area.

Off to the gym and then I have some paperwork to file with the County for our church repairs. I hope to start building the shed ramp today. We will see, I need to pick my son up from school at 14:30.
