Anyone else think this "headshot" things getting a bit ridiculous. So many suspensions and the season hasn't even started.. Are the players getting Weak! or are the "skilled" players playing with there heads down.. Either way.. man up! especially that whiney punk crosby!

 

I like the new Rule 48 - hits to the head from any angle aren't permitted. They're trying to make the league safer so we don't lose elite guys like Crosby. Love him or hate him he's the poster boy for the NHL. Every weekend NBC shows a Caps game or Pens game to get those football fans interested in the game.

the players are getting, bigger, faster and hitting harder. the equipment that is meant to protect the guy getting hit is also protecting the guy doing the hitting, so they can hit harder without hurting themselves. before good pads and pre-helmet, no one hit the other guy like they do now. equipment technology is its own worst enemy right now. its like the NFL players leading their hits with their own head, the helmets are so good that the guy hitting feels safe doing that, not 10 or even 5 years ago did we see that

with 3 guys dying this summer they have to make head shots a huge topic. they all have been linked to have depression / substance issues possibly stemming from head injuries.

no one wants to see a superstar (making 7 million a year) out for the season (crosby) or a career (savard) because some goon (making 400k) trying to make a name for himself took a run at him. they needs to fix it. suspensions are the only way because NHLPA limits fines to something crazy low like $2,500. whereas suspensions are without pay.

hes a Pu%$y. he whines about everything, he takes cheap shots on guys, i saw him give a full uppercut to Boris Valabiks balls one night while Letang had him tied up, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wqR17KrLKw, then bitch to the ref about another call.
no doubt hes an amazing talent, a real good player, hes done it all already. but i just hate him, he is by far the most hated player in the NHL by americans

Couldn't agree more, he's the biggest pussy on the rink. I was devastated when he scored the game winner in the Olympics. Of all the players, he had to score. Ovechkin's a loser too, but Crosby is also, if not a bigger one.

i like watching Ovi play, but his celebrations are a little much. hes physical, stands up for his teammates and himself, and he doesn't bitch and moan like Cindy Crosby does.

 

Ovechkin also knees , hits from behind and jumps into hits .

It will be interesting to see how Shanahan treats him
