Tread Wear

Ok alot of talk on here about two major tire choices Firestone A/T and General Grabbers...

I have factory BF Goodrich Long Trails.. I'm creeping up on my 32 bar with 21550 miles.. who else on here has these tires and what has been your mileage before replacement... Personally I lean towards longer tread wear.. so How is the tread wear on the 2 most popular choices.. Firestone and General.. Thanks for your input..

Bridgestone A/T Revos

 

If you're looking for tread wear, i would'nt go with the Revo's.

I've heard plenty of good stuff regarding the Michelins (LTX) as far as thread wear, though that is one tire i have never personally had.

The Revo's i have had on a 2000 Tacoma. Not bad, but i wouldn't call 'tread wear' a strength.

 

I've got the firestones and I love them.. No noticible wear in about 10k miles since i got my truck. They grip very well in all conditions even in the snow. Check out tire rack's reviews and survey results, those are usually the best indicator of tires.

 

Destinations. I've had them for about 12K miles now and I notice very little wear. Keep them rotated and they're fine. As stated above, they have great grip in both wet and dry and they're good for light to moderate off roading.

 

i just got the Firestone AT's put on and so far so good! at the store the information said they are rated for 60k miles. Also if you look at the previous post that i started comparing these 2 tires somebody posted a link to tirerack's performance chart. The firestone's and General are close, but the Firestone's are number 2 on the chart and out performed them just a little.

 

^Yeah, the Destinations go back and forth between #1 and #2. They really a very good tire, IMO.

 

you shoud see about 50.000 miles out of the revos
all my customers were happy with them as long as you rotate them each 5.000 miles as for the michelins ltx also had them on my 2000 hard tire thats why you will see more miles after about 10.000 to 15.000

ive had awsome results with the mich.ltx.very quiet,work very well on wet and snowy roads as well.60000 miles and still passed pa state inspection.never had the revos so i cant ad to that.

 

I bought them when they first came out. They were giving away a little battery operated TV with the purchase. (Casio?) 3 inch screen or something...

Mine were pretty good for a while but got loud and sloppy around 25,000 - 30,000 miles. Never went more than 6000 between rotations.

As i said, i never personally tried the Michelins. I will say this, the OE BFG's on my 09' OR blow in the snow. I have already promised myself they will not see another winter after this one.

Dam that was a long time ago i think i have some of those at home

 

Yeah, it has come in surprisingly handy a couple of times over the years. I drew the short straw as far as my place on the power grid. A dam cloudy day will cut the power here.
