I got one dealer down to invoice in Colorado. I am going to shop them around and see how low I can get them before I buy next week.

Nice truck..congrats.....that price of $30,900.....how does that relate to the invoice price? Is the $600 for the extended warranty included in that price you mentioned? Thanks

The consistently best prices come from TrueCar/USAA/Overstock (really all the same thing). Pricing is very regional though and you have to watch out for added fees.

Here are a couple of anecdotes to support my point. I purchased a Subaru last year and it was $1,000 cheaper to purchase it in Colorado and have it shipped to Reno, even after transport costs. Searching for a Tacoma, the Reno dealers are at MSRP. The Colorado dealers were at $500 under invoice for 2011's and are getting close for the 2012's; that sounds pretty good until you realize they add a $500 documentation fee so they are really at invoice. I ended up with a dealer far closer to home who is selling me one at slightly below invoice with zero dealer fees. It is really the cost to get whatever vehicle you want to your front door that matters.

BTW, isn't it about time to split some of the discussions off to their own threads? This mega-thread is ridiculous to follow.

If you consider the shifter on the automatic and how each gear has its own gate, you can consider an automatic as almost a clutchless manual transmission if you want.

NO! Too many people on this forum refuse to search and get all excited thinking they are the first to discover the 2012 isn't the same as the 2011 anymore. I HOPE we are passed that, but there will always be that "one" guy.

test drove a 2011 dbl cab long bed and a 2012 dbl cab long bed sport last night. I will have no regrets going with the 2012. Interior is so much nicer. Love the dash lights especially. The contrast of the 2011 was actually irritating. so glad to drive the 2012. I loved how tight the truck was. Very good quality.

The exterior really needs to be seen in person to appreciate it. The photos make the front corners on the bumper look like they go straight back. Its not the case.

Toyota fixed everything I dont like or wanted to mod on the 2011's. I will be doing some mods in addition to lift, tires, ect. Looking forward to January or so when I finally pull the trigger.

Another reasonable thinking person! The hype is over mods, lets allow real conversation on the subject, please.

It was a very smooth ride, especially as we got on the freeway. I drive a Acura CL type S so the acceleration is lacking based on what I am used too. I will be putting a supercharger on it for sure.

just test drove a white 12' sport dclb with entune. Entune was nice, the salesman did not know how to demonstrate it to me. I like the new homelink and black trimmings of the bash and carpet. Overall i am satisfied with the older look and IMO the new style Made the truck look smaller or it could be that im use to my lift truck on 33's.

Are there any differences to the power train in 2012 in addition to the new grill?

What does he have to search for? All a search does is come back to this 165-page monster thread. Individualized topics on the 2012's have been disallowed. Its a shame for what was once the best place for information on tacomas... now any real info on the subject has been stifled.
