I use my Bluetooth in my truck, but NEVER when I'm not driving. I think that it is douchey, but not while you're driving.

Good point! I am amazed by the importance of a person with just one...I would have to seek an autograph of a person of the double douche caliber.

Do you have an aftermarket head unit at all? Or even one of those tape player with an aux cord things? I found in my truck if I just have the aux cord plugged into my phone it'll play phone conversations through my stereo. And the mic is good enough so people can hear me just fine. Something to think about... if you already have the stuff in your truck it's free

This is a great idea... if your f@#$% phone supports it. For whatever reason, when I plug my phone into the AUX jack, it mutes the mic. So I can hear the conversation great, but they can't hear me at all. Fail.

Oh, and yes. BT headsets are quite douchey if you just wear them always. In the truck... not so douchey. I don't like talking and driving, but that's just me - I used to have a job where there was no other option, you had to make calls when on the road - so I completely understand the need.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
Like they said, it is all about how you use them and why. Because you are too lazy to bend your elbow and hold your phone to your ear, douchey. Because you are doing something that requires the good majority use of both of your hands, not douchey. And leaving them in when you are not using it and are not doing something requiring the use of hands and not expecting a call, douchey.

I use a wired headset while driving. I'd like having a bluetooth instead though, that way I dont have to worry about running out of wire.

The only time they are douchebaggy is when someone is in public loudly talking on one, its even worse when you cant see the damn thing and you think the person is just arguing with themself.

Just a bunch of old crap
I'm just not a fan of the douchetooth, mostly because I think they're a pain in the ass. Primarily, I don't need yet another f'ing piece of electronics that I have to keep charged, and secondly they look douchey. For driving, I made sure my Kenwood had bluetooth built in so when I get in my truck it connects automatically. No need to turn down the volume, have something to hook into my hear, etc. I just hit the big phone icon that pops up on the screen and start talking. Anywhere else, I just hold my own phone to my ear like a big boy so there's no confusion that I'm actually talking on the phone.

My phone does the mute mic thing on aux connection too, I tried that because I have 8gb of music on my phone and used it as an mp3 player before adding the GROM box with USB to play music off flash drives.

The only thing that make you more of a douche than wearing a bt headset in public is worrying enough about what other people think enough to post it on TW or replying to the original douche message in the first place, Hmmmm..
