HOLY CRAP!!!! SOMEONE ELSE THAT KNOWS WHO NINKASI IS!!!!!

    CAPS LOCK IS STUUUUCCKKKK....

Ok, anyway, I'm saving my boss the prospect of a heart attack before age 40 and refusing to respond to the young earthers at this point. Feel free to PM me. I'm polite. Hoosiertaco can attest to that.

But back to my original point, holy crap! My wife and I aren't the only Ninkasi worshippers here!

I am partaking in the fruits of her blessings as I type this:cheers:

Born and raised Catholic. Alter boy, Confirmed, etc, but no Catholic school as I was homeschooled. Served as alter boy in Ireland with a church group, in Vietnam and on board while on the USNS Mercy, to name a few. So I have a fairly extensive Catholic past.

But I can say this: the American Catholic Church is not in any way the best representation of Catholicism in general. (For those who don't know, its not a separate church, just a section of it)

You clearly do not understand how evolution occurs.

I know it happens over much much time. Care to explain it since you must obviously know?

You need to do a little research and look up the basics of evolution. Once you go to college, you'll learn a fair amount about it if you take any biology courses.

All life forms have both recessive and dominant genes. Depending on the genotypes of the parental cells, the offspring can display the recessive or dominant phenotype. The life forms which display the best phenotypes (ie: present the greatest chance for survival) will be past on to the offspring. Life forms which have traits that are less desirable (ie: less likely to result in survival) will prevent the parental life forms form procreating. After years and years, the life forms with the less desirable phenotype will cease to exist because the parental life forms with that phenotype will have died off, meaning they cannot procreate and pass on their "bad" genes to their offspring. Eventually, only the desirable phenotype exists.

Each species can/ will branch off at some point. Homosapiens (ie: humans) branched off from apes many years ago. This doesn't mean that apes became extinct. Apes are still perfectly suited for their environment, thus they have remained relatively the same for quite some time. Humans, however have continued to evolve to better suit their environment. Crocodiles and alligators for example, have remained basically unchanged for millions of years because they are the top predator in their environment, and their traits are perfectly suited for survival. Additionally, whales once walked on dry land. They evolved to become better suited for an aquatic environment. Even modern whale skeletons will reveal the remnants of hind legs they once had.

Higher level math is used by those who understand it. Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean it's not factual.

Acquiring knowledge is much more difficult than saying you have faith. :)

Um, your age says it all. We didn't evolve from monkeys and you've obviously fallen for all the lies of religion. Humans and monkeys (and apes...there's a difference) all evolved from ....pay attention young man...

A COMMON ANCESTOR. *que the music* duh duh duh!

We did NOT come from "mun-kees" as your "preecher" would have you endlessly repeat to the world. Humans and apes came from a common ancestor and most likely, the best prospect for that right now is homo habilus, given recent discoveries. Ardipithicus Ramidus was the best candidate for a while until recent research.

But I'm wasting my time here. Please, before you enter a discussion on man's origin, PLEASE, take at least a 101 level physical anthropology class.

Translation: walk away before you look even more ...well, you know.

can't I believe in both? lol

I believe there is a God who created everything, but I also believe in things like the Big Bang theory and evolution because they just make too much sense to ignore.

    interesting thread BTW

Both humans and monkeys evolved from a primate that was neither man nor monkey. The middle you ask about did go away and we still have humans and monkeys.

I assume you dropped out of public school.......

but seriously if you think his opinion is skewed because of going to a public school than you should meet some of the home school crowd around here. im guessing your statement meant private school>public school, but if you want to see some anti anything science, santa claus, girls wearing pants kind of crazy people; look for some home schoolers.

And fyi, i went to a public school and i loved it. in the words of my guitar teacher a few years ago "why would you not send your child to public school? it's free!"
