The OME is a 590 lb coil with no preload, the Icon is 650 lb coil with preload. I think it's fair to say the OME will be a better ride on road. And what do you mean by "stance?" If they both lift 2.5", they will look the same.

Don't just look at the spring rate, Icon's shock is valved perfect for that spring rate! As long as you don't add to the pre-load it'll be as good as it gets!

2 different types of shocks, and dampening.

OME: Progressive dampening. Smooth on road ride, very fluid off road, and on lower speed fire roads. Low pressure nitrigen shock is more responsive on smaller bumps, and holds more oil than a similar sized mono tube shock. 885 springs are 595 in./lbs spring rate.

Icon: Digressive dampening. More firm on road ride (though they can be re valved accordingly). Better suited to faster off roading conditions. Re buildable, on vehicle adjustable. 2.5" diameter shock body holds alot of oil. Come with 650 in./lbs. springs.

    :X

I'm gonna try 34s when these 33s shit and see how that goes. 35s maybe someday.

Also I totally wish my Icons had 700lb springs...probably gonna drop some of those in on the first rebuild.

With this said it sounds like OME would be better, Prices matter and OME wins on that one. Smooth road ride wins for me, and off road performance for the average slow rocky terrains are perfect too. I had been looking for Icons but Ome seems to have more plus than negatives. The best thing about Icons is that they can be redone

Also recall that OME lifts set your height by spring rate. If you add armor later it will sag your suspension, and the only way to regain your old height is to remove the coilover struts, tear them down, and install a higher rate spring.

With adjustable C/Os (Icon/Fox/King) you jack up the truck, use a wrench for 30 seconds, and you're done.

And yes, OME lifts though very good cannot be rebuilt, so you may end up having to replace shocks later (with the associated cost) versus $50 for an Icon rebuild kit.

Im still bouncing the idea around, with extra weight from my bumper could use 886 but my OME I have now are about 3 yrs old and need changing so, time will tell which I choose.

It's less of a problem if you armor first, then lift.

Icon's flat out. If your worried about road ride, don't. They're so smooth its ridiculous. I just cant wait for spindles to decrease the preload and see how they ride then.

Which is no different than Fox, Icon, King, Bilstien, etc. All of them are going to be very strong.

OME is a fantastic set up, depending on what you are looking for. Comparing them to Icons, is an Apples to Oranges comparo. Now....Comparing them to the 5100's or the like, would be a better comparo.
