It's not like its down the street. I would love to walk in there and have a chat with them. I have to drive to tucson to do that. Maybe a phone call will work?

Check the area for skid marks then check the report for a description of the marks and pictures. Those will help your insurance company. Also your insurance company should check into that guys history. There may be other incidents involving arguments or accidents that will likely help your case. I would recommend staying out of court if possible and try to get some damage covered. Just don't expect to have all of it covered though.

I photographed everything. Luckily I had my SLR for the run today. Normally i would have had my go pro set up too but i forgot the mount. That would have caught everything. Lol, thats what I said...how the hell did I ram him!!! His damage was mostly his rear tool box. he pulled next to me and used the backside of his truck to run into me.

I notice that you have an offroad bumper, you may have an arguement along the lines of not wanting to mess you truck up and if you wanted to ram him, you would have used it to avoid damage to your vehicle.

also, post pics of the damage

Now, OP, there had to have been SOME reason that the officer gave for taking the both of you to jail

Being involved in a collision in and of itself would not warrant jail, but using the vehicle as a weapon, sure

Something else had to have happened...otherwise your vehicle wouldve most likely been to the rightmost side of your lane with damage to your left front end (as you said) and his truck wouldve had damage to right rear and been partially in your lane

road rage and intentions aside, officer shouldve done at least a basic collision report unless he saw something youre not telling us

man to be honest this is why I've been thinking of getting one of those HD pro cameras. it's a bunch of bs i know. but i almost got hit by a f'in cop the other day (i know i do this but i at least keep in my lane) but damn cop was texting and driving and swerving not even ashamed. anyways i figure i can film whats going on. I'm sorry that happened to you. i know how you feel. i was DD the other night and i pulled out and drove out in front of 2 grls so i stopped. i noticed someones back up lights come one so i honked. the ppl in front of me flicked me off and i couldn't move and bam. i could of called the cops i know but i know what's it's like to drink and drive and have my life ruined. of course he was like dude i'll pay but i couldn't find him. thats my luck. one shit storm after another

and FTR i'm not accusing you of anything...just curious because the way you tell it sounds a little odd for the officer to not at least put SOMETHING on paper

Yes he said that using a vehicle for that purpose is against the law, obviously. I stated to the officer that he hit my truck on purpose. the other guy ststed that i hit him on purpose. with no witnesses, who should he believe. The damage you stated is exactely what happened! and...call me crazy, but how can I tell you something that the officer saw, yet didnt tell me?
I think the officers basic rebutle is that we are both accusing each other of ramming each other with no witnesses...

were your vehicles still in contact when he arrived? did you take pics of the vehicles while they were in contact? with lane placement etc?
