hahaha! look guy, i understand taxes just fine. im more or less minoring in economics, and am majoring in business. i file my own taxes, i research plenty on the distribution of all the types of taxes and all the factors to it. the basic fact is i believe in a free public education. the valedictorian of my high school was piss poor and is now on a full scholarship in college. education is the future of everything, and one of the few things as i mentioned above that i think the government should be paying for.

Fair enough, cheap shot, but I think you are saying your valedictorian wasn't that well educated?

Unfortunately public school isn't equal for all.

Yes, because everybody (well.... not quite everybody) pays taxes and those taxes fund public education. But it's less cost effective in the bigger picture.

    Correct.

    Yes. (kind of...)

    How would that not work?
 Yeah, for reals!!!!! :smack: haha

obviously im saying the opposite of that. another thing on those lines is program at my college that just drives home my point. they are students called Parks Scholars. these are public school kids that get a full ride, STATE FUNDED, education. they are the definition of dirt broke geniuses who definitely wouldn't have even been able to go to a community college, much less a university. one of my friends is one. doesn't even have a car but still has 4.0 gpa after all these years. there's a hall in one of the buildings with stories and pictures of them and all there accomplishments, inventions, patents and stuff like that.

The Parks Scholarships are actually paid for by a private foundation and private donations, a shining example of how the private system works.

 crap , well still, at my university (nc state) 75% of the funding is by the state, so close to the same thing. though that was genuinely my mistake. . . i was thinking of teaching fellows too. thats all state funded. actually got the ax this year. my sister's one.

Yeah I admit last night I'd just got back from day 3 of The Great American Beer Fest down in Denver. 2000+ beers to choose from and I had my share.

Apparently they aren't teaching evolution to you in your school, and you think trig is not worth learning? It was a good guess you dropped out. ;)

Yes, I carry a Bible in my center console and always will.
Never, did I say trig was not worth learning. I said their are certain parts of math that we are taught that make no sense and we will never use.

Trig makes complete sense, and I use trig all the time. Does your school teach evolution, or intelligent design? My catholic school taught evolution starting in 7th grade.

Seems your Florida politicians has been trying to teach God is the creator in public schools.

Actually no. God isn't aloud to be taught in public schools. I look at it this way, I'd rather die believing and be saved than die in disbelief and go to hell. Pic the bigger disappoint :)

    *there

The math you are referring to may not make sense to you, but that does not make it nonsensical.
