FYI It honestly won't matter if the police cite him or not unless you want to take him to small claims court. An insurance company will deny this claim in a second based on the fact it was " road rage". It was an intentional act by the driver in the Ford to damage your vehicle by ramming it, there is a policy exclusion on " intentional acts". The best thing you can do is turn it in to your own carrier, let them pay the claim, you will unfortunately have to pay your deductible and let your carrier pursue the other driver for the damages.

I called them today. They are coming to the house tmrw to talk about it. Maybe someone can give me a heads up about the fron end of the truck. Are they going to total out my truck...the frame is pulled away at the bumper mount point. Those mounts are welded to the frame and the whole thing has benn ripped away. Not sure how ins companies deal with this stuff

Probably a good idea, but I have had an incident involving a stock Ford Ranger (me driving) and a BMW Z3. Dumb ass in the Z3 did something similar after getting stuck in front of me at a traffic light with his top down. Started yammering about my high beams. I was on low beam the whole time. When your mirrors are all in line with someone's headlights, what the hell is that person supposed to do about your mirror height?

Good idea to reduce your glare to other drivers, but there will always be some dumb piece of trash out there who thinks it's all about them.

On a side note, I happened to stop for gas the next day and saw the car involved at the gas station. Guess who owns the gas station? He'll probably not miss my gas purchases, but makes me feel better to go elsewhere.

Don't know how to help on the legal side. Without witnesses, it's tough. Even if he's somehow found at fault, I doubt you'll get him charged with assault, which is what he's guilty of.

This is a reason im hesistant of getting HIDs. I drive in a heavily populated area but then again to the OP i think having 55w was a big mistake unless your off roading. But then the guy was a fucking ass hole for even coming up to your car. Thats when i woulda got out a tire iron and tell him to get the fuck away from my truck if he desires his face.

What a ass hole for messing with your truck. Hope you get this worked out.

It depends on the amount of frame damage believe it or not a lot of frame damage is safely repairable. If the damage is bad enough to warrant replacement then you have to determine if the manufacturer has a sectioning procedure for the given vehicle, believe it or not many manufacturers sell front or rear frame sections. If a part needs replaced it depends on your state of residence but insurance companies are allowed to use recycled or LKQ parts including a used frame. Here in Ohio the part has to be from the same model year or newer and in as good or better condition than the part it is replacing.
