Ok, so I saw a CL ad and some guy was selling Nfab nerf bars. Ad said "new in box" and was a pretty good deal. So I figured what the hell, I'll take a look. I stopped by and they were all wrapped up and I took a quick peek in the box. They looked good, so I took them. After I got home, my wife and I tried to set them next to the truck (2012 DC/LB) and look at where they'd be "bolted on" and it didn't look like it would simply "bolt on"!! One set of holes lined up, but others didn't! There's no way for me to mount all three mounting brackets in place without drilling!

I looked at the packing slip and I guess they were Smittybilt nerf bars (Part# T0678QC) for the 07-10 DC/SB according the website. I guess my question is.. Should this matter? and has anyone mounted such a product onto a 2011 or better yet, a 2012 DC/LB? I don't wanna have to sell them or find this guy and be like.. wtf?! Should I just drill and mount these bad boys? or sell them and find another set some other time?

these are the steps correct? Don't drill anything if they are. You sure you have the right side on the right side?

    QC vs CC?

I just got the CC ones and they fit the factory holes perfectly.

WTF?! I'll try again tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed.. I hope I don't have to sell these bad boys.. Or maybe I can call Smittybilt and they'll do an exchange.. I mean, they're not that far away..

Thanks for the reply.. +1 rep for you being as I needed info for the 2012.. which is few and far between thus far.

I think Bajamoon is right , QC is for the Tundra

I think there is a typo on the install sheet as there should be no difference in install of an 05-11 ( or 12 ) Tacoma , but the install for the QC lists 07-10

Why don't you take it back to the guy that you bought it from? If he sold you something other than what he told you it was, then he should give you your money back. I don't like to go there, but hell it's fraud - he can get in big trouble if he does not cooperate and give you your money back.
Unless you think you can sell it for more to a Tundra owner.

I agree with you in principal. However, here's the funny thing, I picked them up for $250 and it looks like the if the nerf bars really are for a Tundra I think they retail for $399! So I can stand to make a few bucks on them screwing me over! (if they truly are for a Tundra).

I know.. It's really confusing to me too.. the part number that was on the box said T0678QC. The pdf I attached showed the CC and QC as the same thing. Confused the crap outta me, until some of the other guys chimed in and stated that it's probably a typo on the manufacturers part as the bars just don't fit my truck (the holes just don't line up).

So, I'm gonna try and find a Tundra to test these out on. And if they fit, then I'll probably try and Craigslist them. Which will get me one step closer to SLIDERS!!!:D

So I was at work and decided to measure a few trucks in my parking lot as there are a plethora of Toyota trucks at work, and it looks like the nerf bars do not fit a Tundra.. I then emailed Smittybilt, and they said they couldn't help me.

So, my next recourse is to ask you guys a HUGE favor, can someone measure the underside mounting points of a '07-'10 Taco DC/SB and tell me if they would fit so I can sell them?

The measurements of the nerf bar is as follows:
Distance between mounting bracket A to B: 30.5"
Distance between mounting bracket B to C: 26"
    Overall Length: 82"
(Mounting brackets are from front to back and there's about an inch give either way in the mounting brackets, they're slotted)

I would rather sell them on Craigslist so I can get some cash back from this fiasco, but if that doesn't pan out, I'll hit you guys up. I'm gonna try to sell them for $300, they ARE new in box...

Please let me know if the brackets will fit.. Thanks in advanced guys!

Are the mounting points on the nerf bars equal? I know when I had them on my Taco they were side specific. Also they make 2 lengths, one that ends at the cab and one that goes beyond the cab.

Any part #'s on the bars them selves? Never know if some douche put new bars in the wrong box.

Also you are law just show up in "company car" and get your money back lol.

They are side specific, but I looked at that too.. I didnt' see any part #'s on the bars, but I'll look. And.. I don't think it'd go well will my department if I use the "company car" to do something like that.. nor would it go well with the public for that matter if they find out I do ANYTHING personal on County time.

I think it really is for a '07-'10 DC/SB but I just need confirmation that the measurement will fit so I can sell it. Thanks for the reply Bajamoon..

No problem man. Sucks when shit like this happens. Here is a link to N_fab's website. The part # is for a access cab.

Also 05-12 tacos are the same, only small changes.

    http://www.n-fab.com/products/searchType/vehicleSearch/year/2011/make/Toyota/model/Tacoma/sfID1/69

Edit*** smittybuilt's website says it's for a DC as well and not a access cab. WTF??? lmao

Where are you located roughly? Maybe someone can help you out? I thought I got jipped when I got mine too from N-Fab.

Yea, I've read that Smittybilt's nerf steps are the same for AC and DC. Weird, but ok.. And I'm on south Orange County, but ultimately I just need someone to measure their hole mounts on a '07-'10 to see if they match up with the measurements of the nerf bars I have. Then I'd be able to sell them to a happy customer.. but I don't want to sell a product unless I know for sure what it fits.. unlike the people that sold it to me..

Hopefully I'll be able to see someone this weekend at the offroad show in pomona and do some measuring. Then I can finally get rid of these things and maybe get a set for my truck with the money.
