I've been around Tacomas for a while, but I just bought a 2011 and it has some features that are new to me. Here's what's happening. When I hit the un lock button twice, to unlock all the doors it works as normal. However, on occasion, my Tacoma will chirp about 5 seconds later, and lock all the doors without me hitting the lock button. So is this suposed to happen, or is there a Transformer (hopefully an Autobot) living in my Taco.

    Any advice?

Mine does that also, when you unlock the doors with the remote, if you don't actually open the door within so much time, they lock again. I'm not sure if there's a work around for it but my 2007 does the same thing.

It will do that automatically if you unlock it and don't open any of the doors. My 09 does it.

Thanks guys. Glad to know that I don't have to go back to the dealership to get it fixed.

    See you on the trails!

my 2006 does the same thing, although it doesn't seem as long as 30 seconds, I could be wrong though, maybe my perception of time is skewed :)

yeah i think thats just a safe feature so incase u unlocked it accidentally, ur truck wont just be unlocked! I think its pretty cool! I also like tha fact that you cant lock tha doors with the remote if the doors are open, so that way if you lock ur keys in the truck you literally had to lock the doors maually to do it! Its retard proof (or at least tries to be)

Yeah it's normal, anyone know how to program this so it turns it off completely. I think it's an annoying feature myself. Great if your old and losing your mind but I don't need a feature locking my truck when I don't need it locked, it just pisses me off when your in and out of your truck throughout the day. I programmed my tacoma to turn off the seat belt alarm, even though I wear my seat belt, but still at times you take your belt off and those alarms are so annoying. Anyway, anyone know how to turn the locking feature off so you can just lock it when you wish too?

Is there a work around for this? I have been locked out of my vehicle more than once because of this.

Remember when you had that sig about putting a crease in the spine of the owner's manual?

    I liked that sig.

No alarm never messed with anything only after market product installed is a rear aal. Worst part is I hadn't replaced my hide-a-key after loosing my other key on a night mtb ride. Ended up breaking my second rear slider trying to get in. First one I broke back in 07 after I set the keys on the seat while fueling up doh. Got the hide-a-key right after that. I feel like it has a mind of it's own... maybe I need to give her more love.:)
