My Verizon issues

So I finally bought the Droid 2 March 2011... about 4 months go by and the stupid phone starts freezing, randomly restarting, and getting extremely hot. Took it to Verizon, they sent me a replacement.

Got replacement activated, works decent for about 2-3 months go by and I start having the same problems. Again, called Verizon, they sent out another replacement.

Now, I have had this replacement for just over a week.... still have the same issues PLUS the camera quit working. went to Verizon today, told them how unhappy I was and that I was paying a crap load of money for something that works better as a paperweight and another replacement is not going to make me happy. They took a look at the family plan and said well there is an upgrade available on one of the other lines... I said Um... no... Im not taking someone's upgrade especially when I have only had this phone for half a year. The manager then says, then it looks like your going to get a replacement.

Verizon customer service is equal to a big, steaming pile of horse shit in short....

Should I take this to corporate?

Kinda glad I got the iPhone from Verizon instead of the droid.

Wanted a droid but have had zero issues with the iPhone.

Yeah mine is slow as shit too. Sometimes it takes a good 30-45 seconds to pull up the browser or certain apps.

I always wish I had done the iphone instead. Some of the apps I have though are not on the iphone which is nice/sucks.


Thanks guys. I wanted to make sure I had a decent case to bring it that high up. I certainly will not take no for an answer... or be told to use the other upgrade.

 

that is the one I have. the D2 Global. My step dad has the basic D2 and has had no issues. I have thought about flashing a different software on there but am hesitant. Dont want to fuck anything up.

I flashed my OG droid with black slide & it fixed all of my problems.

 

take to corpo!! i have all ways had Verizon. not have the iphone4. and i agree the customer service could be better. my brother worked there for a bit. and i kinda know what to look for if they are just being lazy and don’t want to deal with stuff. one time my bro had to say “ i know you can take care of this and that you just don’t fill like doing it” they dealt with the it really fast. lol

I got rid of my Droidx after 2 months and bought my Iphone, and have not looked back. Hate the droids.

 

Take it to corporate, and tell them you won't pay for service you're not getting. Threaten to move to AT&T since they have 4G. Then get an iPhone 4 for cheaper after the 5 debuts in the coming days.

 

yeah. i did not have a smart phone before. and one brother had the iphone and one had some android. i liked the iphone more. so i got it. and i would not look back on it or the macbook.

 

Just go to a different store. I have had excellent customer service with Verizon. I always get replacements no questions asked. I originally had the droid incredible, got it on launch day and it was a great phone for over a year. It started having issues, went through about 3 replacements and got fed up with it. Talked to a manager there and they upgraded me to the incredible 2. This phone is awesome but it had an earpiece issue. I took it in and got a replacement. They were originally going to upgrade me to a 4g phone but i liked my current phone so much I waited until they were back in stock. This new one has had no issues (Knock on wood)

 

I don't want to spam his thread with an argument or anything, so I'll wrap in one post why I don't like apple:

1) I'm studying computer science/engineering as one of my majors, and I can't stand trying to run programs on Mac's. PC's are SO much more versatile and easier to program (I use Linux, obviously)

2) Apple's computers are SOOOOOO expensive. I can build a custom PC with 2x better hardware than a macbook, and it'll be about $900 cheaper, if not more.

3) I play(ed) my fair share of PC games, what games can Mac's play? Hmmm. None.

4) You can build custom PC's for different purposes

5) 2 mouse buttons

6) DVD tray has an eject button...

7) PC = smart, Mac = prettyboy
