    k i recommend NOT buying this, as i responded to this thread i went back out and "tested" the lock, i find that it's simply too loose, and if i slid it to the left too much, i coulda removed the tailgate, FAIL product at least get the sizing better...

    You can also get the gatekeepr thing and put it over the hose clamp while using the washer on the cables & the popnlock whenever you can get it. Someone will have to jonesin bigtime to jack with it......

    back to the the thing , i basically added rubber, and electrical taped the heck out of it, and now it's golden, and i did the washer mod.

    Nice looking lock, but McGard doesn't list a model to fit the Taco. :(

    I've had mine for over a year. Works great IMO No rust yet (I thought it was made of stainless...) but I wrapped my loop in electrical tape to make sure it didn't leave any scratches.

    installed the pop n lock today, took longer then expected with the camera removal and install taking the most time because i didnt want to damage it, otherwise im satisfied, like many of the others with it,

    1. it's fairly hard to open 2. toyota's oem seems constructed better 3. fitment on the lower part is a tiny gap, also the gasket doesnt line up 100%, but otherwise.. im satisfied that my tailgate is locked up.

    Mine seemed to fit and function perfectly and has had no issues for coupla years now. Even moved it from the 05 to the 08 when that swap happened a few months back. It is the plain one tho, no camera.

    mine was just a little too big, if you moved it all the way to the left, the tailgate would still slide out, but after all that rubber/electrical tape it's good to go, but for a 19$ product i just wish it was plug and go

    :p:cool::cool:Thank You for the tip. I got my #20 EZ Clamp at local Autozone. Easy to install. Remove handle with channel lock plyers, pull straight back. Shape of screw was more square than triangular, but still Great anti-theft tip!!

    Just wrapped the tailgate end in electrical tape, cut the notch out so it would fit back over the extension. Then used the clamp. Cut the clamp down. Then took a little more electrical tape and put over the clamp screw to prevent scratching (doesn't touch anyway) and a little weather proofing.
    Thanks for the good ideas and cheap.

PIAA Drive lights, Stealth mod DTRL on/ off, leather arm rests, door and center.
    I just hose clamped mine, I take my tail gate off every once and awhile, liked the idea of annoying / slowing the baddies down. Some times if I really afraid some one will steal my tail gate I leave my 80lb german shepherd in the bed, which I feel is the best protection! :)

    the hose clamps i had were too small (looks like you need a 2-inch clamp) so i just did put some washers and spacers on the cable bolts. what thief carries around a T-40 anyhow?
