Came across this forum searching for ways to increase the fuel mileage on my Tacoma for my 140 mile daily commute to Boston. Looks like a wealth of info here. Thanks all!

    Cheers,

    Scott

    Welcome to TacomaWorld.

As for more fuel savings, Keep your tires inflated to near the max sidewall pressure, a higher flow drop in airfilter will help, and after the break-in a switch to synthetic oil won't hurt either.

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
53FC, nice to hear from some one in MA. Cape Cod is a great place, welcome to the TW. What a shame you have to commute to boston.

    Welcome to TW!

Just so you know, the Valentine 1 Radar Detector won't help you increase you MPG. ;)

    Cheers! :D

    Maverick,
Yes, I have done all of that and it has helped. Hoping the Eco-2 will help more.

    007,
Yes, I agree, the radar detector won't help with mileage, but it can save a few bucks in the wallet in other ways! It has saved me more than once!

    My commute truly sucks!

Scott, have you heard of any get togethers in MA or Rhody? I think in the spring it would be nice to get a bunch of locals together and see what everyone has done to their trucks.

    Jeff,

No, I haven't heard about any get togethers planned. Keep me posted if you hear of anything and I'll do the same.

I hear that! My commute isn't the best either, but it isn't the cops I have to worry about. It is Bambi and his herd of thugs. Last month saw 15-20 dead deer on the side of I-10 between my house and work. I don't know about you, but a deer in the grill at 75+ doesn't sound fun.

    Cheers!

Welcome Scott. Are you on or off Cape? I went to MMA and grew up in Weymouth. Cheers, Jonathan
