Media Silence Is Deafening About Important Gun News

Murder and violent crime rates were supposed to soar after the Supreme Court struck down gun control laws in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
Politicians predicted disaster. "More handguns in the District of Columbia will only lead to more handgun violence," Washington’s Mayor Adrian Fenty warned the day the court made its decision.
But Armageddon never happened. Newly released data for Chicago shows that, as in Washington, murder and gun crime rates didn't rise after the bans were eliminated -- they plummeted. They have fallen much more than the national crime rate.
Not surprisingly, the national media have been completely silent about this news.

i think a 6 month comparison is a little tough to get a true picture. Who knows, there could have been one guy who robbed 20 stores in 20 nights with a gun 6 months ago but now hes in jail or dead, so there's your difference right there, and the same goes for shootings as robberies. if one guy guy or gang were responsible for a large number of shootings but that person / those people are now off the streets, it makes sense. not saying this is what happened but its a very small time frame to be making such a bid deal about.

I must say that i WOULD EXPECT the results that we saw in this article. legal carriers or legal weapons are rarely the problem, its the black market guns carried by thugs. also if criminals now know that they are not the only ones with guns, they may think twice about drawing their weapon.

I am not a gun enthusiast or advocate, I think guns for hunting is OK, having a handgun at HOME is OK, I do not really like the carrying in public thing, I completely disagree with people owning assault/military grade weapons, like AR15's....

a gun is a gun is a gun. doesnt make a difference if its a bolt action rifle, pistol, or sporting rifle. If you are ok with one then why not the other?

Bad guys will have whatever they want so why limit the law abiding citizens to what they are allowed to have? Laws dont affect criminals. Just my .02

i think that having a handgun in your house is OK for protection. i do not think that a civilian should be able to own something like an AR-15, that is obviously more capable of mass destruction. I know that many will disagree with me saying that no US citizen should be out gunned by the police or government , but i just dont think that way

Yeah, why not? Media darling can't do any wrong but last guy there got pinned for everything by everyone and still is so sure, buck stops at the top.

And for the record, the media has never been so blatently obviously slanted like it has been since 2008.

So you just like to limit the good guys? Like I said before, make it a law and it wont make a shit differance, the bad guys will still get whatever they want. Look at mexico, private gun ownership is illegal and look at who has all the guns

i undertsand where you are coming from. I am just not a gun supporter. if we limit the guns the "good guys " can have then thats less guns that can get into the hands of the "bad guys" ....comparing the US to Mexico is not really fair when it come to laws and enforcing them

Bestop, Child Seats, petrified french fry, dog hair, empty Mtn Dew cans cracked windshield, scratches.
Rub a lamp and ask a Genie to make all guns, ALL GUNS, disapear. Criminals will then use 2x4's with nails ran through them to rob banks at which point you'll be looking for that lamp to rub and poof away all the boards and hardware.
