Actually, that freedom was won with time and information (as are all wars). And not a small amount of ingenuity.

Guns are just a means of expanding or contracting time and/or information. As are fuel depots, rail lines, aircraft, torture, espionage, etc.

But Time & Information doesn't look as sexy on bumper stickers.

yes, time and info wins wars because it allows the guns to be in the right location at the right time. Not everyone will listen to reason many times diplomacy doesnt work and a more severe.action must be taken

    You are correct.

The real problems arise when the uninformed, or willfully ignorant(as seen above) vote. It's amazing the conclusions people will jump to...the opinions they will hold when their minds are completely unencumbered by facts.

Btw im not saying that guns stop crime, or that a 6 month survey is sufficient to notice actual changes. What im saying is that our 2nd amendment has proven itself time and time again, and citizens should and always should be allowed to own weapons no matter what state they live in

It seems that gun enthusiasts know the most about the 2nd amendment. Like I said I'm not into guns so knowing it inside and out isn't that important to me. I'm sorry you find it " chilling " I find the factthat there are thousands of hillbillies out there that are locked, loaded, preparing for a war against the government more chilling

I may or may not be a "gun enthusiast", as far as you know.

What I find chilling is that is that you admittedly have little to no knowledge of the subject(nor do you care to...admittedly), yet you advocate limiting the rights of others.

I don't see any facts. Can you cite any sources that back up your claim?

    Meh. I've seen worse.

I actually find that those who only seek enough information to support the opinions they already hold are far more intolerable than those who willfully choose ignorance. Then they become loud.

Ignorance + Loud = Closed Minded.

The problem isn't that you need to be informed to vote (although it doesn't hurt) it's that the Ignorant and Loud ones are the ones who tend to reach the largest audiences (because they are Loud). This just breeds more Ignorant and Loud voters until you reach the polarization that we see today.

Maybe they were using the wrong type of diplomacy.

And you've got it backwards. The guns allow the time and information expansion/contraction necessary for the pieces for resolution to be moved into place. The guns are the tools, the time and info are the tactics.

I didn't say that I know nothing about the bill of rights. I said I'm not that familiar with the 2nd.

I found some posting on this thread to know quite a bit. But I think they just know enoughto argue why guns are good. I just don't see why a civi would ever need an auomatic rifle.

For those who say I'm ignorant for not knowing the 2 nd very well. Do you know the 8th or 9 th by heart. And everything they encompass?

Said this, less well, earlier in the thread and got no responses... Without knowing the past you cant make good decissions about the future.

ill help you out...the SCOTUS said the decision of Nunn Vs State of Georgia perfectly captured the clauses of the 2nd Amendment

    link to the entire decision

No weapons are ban-able....no man that is free(not in prison) can be denied the right to bear arms even young people women and boys....but of course the SCOTUS probably wont go that far...but if any of the cases being heard today were held then that is the type of decision that would be issued...and GA at the time of this decision like California today had no right to keep and bear arms in the state constitution they had to add one to be allowed to be readmitted into the Union after the civil war

and yes i know the entire of Bill of Rights by heart and what the amendments mean...

Your right, it has EVERYTHING to do with THIS president! The filthy, disgusting, liberal media are so far up Hussein Obamas ass they can see daylight when he opens his mouth. They will NEVER, EVER report something like this as goes against the very fabric of the far left communist liberal agenda which the media is a huge part of. Somehow, someway this moron president gets a pass on his dismal record every single day in the media. If this was a republican president and the country was spiraling into the toilet like it is currently with Obama at the helm these same media d-bags would be frothing at the mouth. I hate the biased media and their hero BHO equally. Wake up people.....
