Mark, I have done sporting clay's and like it but trap is good for quail hunting. Not many get away but this weekend I was way off. Now is the best time to get the rust off. A Doctor pal called this morning and has a 2 person 2 day hunt up in Ga. this weekend At the south wind plantation his wife cant go and his son is in school in S.C.,Load up my two best dogs and the weekend is on him. Guess you know where I'm going. Got to shoot better then I did this weekend or the ribbing is on... Jim

Good morning all! Today is the start of what the weather forecasters say will be about a week with no rain and mild temperatures! It may even hit 80 by Sunday. We certainly need to dry out up here in the soggy northeast!

Jim - sounds like you have a great opportunity lined up for the weekend. Enjoy and good hunting!!

Jim get out there and get practicing

I'd prefer weeding to working this time of year. Weather is gorgeous!!!

Mark, hope your area dries out.

Hi Jim. It's going... trying to come up with ideas on how to get the dogs to quit digging my back yard up  If it was one place that would be one thing, but they are digging all over :annoyed: Annie is chasing moles and Zoie just likes to dig because she sees Annie doing it

    Gonna get your practice in?

morning all: ahh! hunting quail. never got to hunt them. didn't have them in our neck of the woods. used to hunt grouse. I could actually shoot them. reflexes are a little slower now, would probablly be behind on every shot. now it's turkeys,a lot bigger and slower! love the outdoors,as long as I dont have to maintain it.

I love watching the dogs find and pin quail. If I get 2 birds or 12 it's still a good day, All my pals over 60 say they are behind more shot's then they used to be. I think I'm going down to a 20 ga. as it's lighter and hopefully faster. I will know tonight as I'm going to shoot trap with the 12 first then the 20 and see how it goes. I don't turkey hunt much anymore but the dogs do point them from time to time. walk in the brush to flush quail and a turkey comes up, its time for a shower its funny to see the dogs WTF was that face.. it seems like the 20 ga.got popular over recent years. did all my small game hunting with an ithaca model 37,16 ga., mod.choke. quick and light. seemed to fit me just right. shot a lot of critters with it. for duck & turkey, use a 12 ga. moved up to a 3 1/2" mag. for turkeys, W/ hastings .640 choke. I'm not overly impressed with it. should have bought a 10 ga.,only thing is-they're too darn heavy.they should come with a set of wheels, especially the semis.

 Morning Ken, Jim, MT, and anyone who is along later

Supposed to be another gorgeous day here in SC.

Took the dogs for run last night... them running me on my bike :D Took them one at a time and didn't go too far, need to work them up to longer distances. Annie seemed to enjoy it more than Zoie did. Then the turds STILL wanted a walk  this is supposed to replace their walk, oh well. As long as I can tire them out and hopefully keep them from digging more.........

Morning everyone! There is some strange bright ball hanging in the sky and the sky is this weird color of blue...not at all the gray we are used to. I'm not sure what to do.
