So I made a thread like this in the 2nd gen Tacomas forum but it somehow disappeared. So I am reposting in a different section to see if it can stay up!

So here's what inspired me to make this thread...

Yesterday I was on the road on my way home from work, and when I look in my rear view mirror I see this huge RED Dodge Ram speeding up to catch me and then he started to tailgate me, which ticked me off. Then we turned left onto a street with 3 lanes, I stayed in the far right while he went in the middle lane and felt like he needed to show me up by speeding past me and flooring the engine (he was a wanna be gangster/bro). Just to give you an idea, I was going 50 mph on a 50 zone while he did approx. 70-75. And while he drove past me he gave me a look, a condescending look as if to say, my truck is better, your truck is a foreign crapper. I just laughed to myself, knowing that he thought that he was more BAMF just because he was driving a full sized truck and floored it past me.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me, as many young kids in their full and mid sized trucks (Ford, Chevy, Dodge) give me dirty looks and feel the need to floor it once the light is green.

Has this ever happened to you in your nice and modded Tacos? Share your stories!:D:D:D

Haha i always get picked on for driving a little baby truck in the bush. All the guys i work with (in forestry) all drive big lifted f150s or 3/4 ton dodge/chev/fords. There claim is their trucks are tougher and wont break like a little tacoma truck would on the bush roads, but i just keep silent and know i have put much less money into mine AND get better mileage then all of them... :D

It always seems to be guys driving those trucks that give you the most crap for driving a Toyota. They won't have their trucks for long whie you can still have yours with 200k+ miles and be fine. And you would be wasting less gas than them ;)

Heck, they have to take their anger out on someone for having a small tally wacker...

Like they say, they have to have something big to make up for their lack of manhood.

I've haven't had anyone hate on my tacoma yet and it's been a year since I bought it. That's probably due to it being mostly stock. I had a shop change out one of my wheel bearings and the mechanic told me how nice a lift made my taco look.

all i know is that the ford, dodges n chevys with their bro style 3ft lifts towing all their quads n toys to the hills/trails/dunes need those toys to get through them. i meet them on the same trails, with my truck, in comfortable bucket seats, 4wd, and AC. then i just look at them on their quad/dirt bike n think to my self... who's the smart one now. i got AC. i brought my truck through here, where's urs? .... still stuck to the trailer in the parking lot with all the rest of them LOL im not hating, im just saying.
    some are even 4x4. waste.

It's happened to me a few times. I just laugh because I probably use my truck for work way more than they do, and I still get 30 MPG on a regular basis.

Anyone get any hate from opposing tacoma owners?

I've run into other guys driving their tacomas and when they see mine when I pull up at a red light they kinda give me a dirty look sometimes. Share!

HAHAHA the same thing actually happened to me too this morning...and the truck was one of those big diesel Dodge trucks..and it was red. Tailgated me but didn't pass me though.

Other modded Taco drivers kinda snub me too...I guess Taco guys here got no love for other Taco drivers...or maybe it's cause mine isn't heavily modded like theirs.

Everyone here has tacos so I never get hate from other trucks, rather, I get hate from ricers.

    At a stoplight.
    Ricer pulls up, blasting music.
dude looks over at me, laughs
    revs ridiculously shitty sounding exhaust
    light turns green
Ricer takes off!...20 feet before stalling
I roll up to him, open my window and throw a tissue into his passenger side
    Drive away.

I don't get what the beef is from ricers either. Like it's not even the same type of car!

Some Tacomas that have a shit load of chrome pull up and stay close to me like I'm supposed to be impressed with all that chrome.

I'm talking chrome wheels, bull bar, tailgate handle, mirrros, handles, etc.

"Hey. That Toyota has no chrome. I'm going to stay in his visual path to show him how badass my truck looks compared to his."

Haha reminds me of this red TRD OR tacoma around me. CHROME EVERYWHERE. Handles, mirrors, doorsill protectors, step bars, bumper, grille, billet grille, bull bar, the chrome light surround for the tail lights and that thing that goes in front of the headlights and grille. It is horrendous.
