alright, so this has been ongoing now for about 2 years give or take a few months...but when i run or walk (happens to me faster when i run) my legs tighten up, i can usually deal with that, but then they start to hurt very badly..sometimes i end up in excruciating pain and have to just deal with it...but it is really starting to bother me...it happens more often now...almost everyday when i walk from my dorm to my classes, my legs (the calf region) start to really really hurt...its a very sharp pain, and its definitely not a cramp...its almost like a burning, sharp pain...

any thoughts as to what it may be???

2 years is quite a long time to be honest. If I were you, I'd go see a doctor as soon as possible. I havent come across this in my fire career but you def dont want to ignore this.

Clueless... see your family doctor; who well then set you up to see a specialist if needed. That's what they are there for.

I understand what your saying but you need to get yourself looked at ASAP. Have you tried googling it and reading up on it? I'm sure your not the only one that has experienced this issue. Dont think so far ahead as surgery but start from the basics. Do you have health insurance? Call them and find out what you can do about getting seen by a doc.

You sure its a good idea to wait any longer? Like I said, I would just go ASAP that way if they have to run tests and all that, when your winter break does come up and you end up needing surgery, they will have everything else out of the way to fix you during your break.

Why do you think you need surgery? You are upsetting yourself needlessly. Perhaps circulation can be a part of it. Or like everyone else says, nutrition and lack of potassium. If you have health care, take care of yourself and go talk to a doctor about it.

x2 The sooner you know what the issue is, the sooner you can work on "fixing" it. If it's nutritional, then the sooner the better.
