Where is the misinformation? Perhaps you would care to enlighten us as to what the correct information is rather than saying "so much misinformation"

    Oh okay dick...

Everyone should glue their shrouds down with a flexible adhesive. Hard adhesives such as Gorilla Glue and the like will become brittle and break under heavy vibration. I would suggest some sort of silicone or softer epoxy. For those of you who did the Apollo shroud shouldn't be "as" worried. The apollos sit much nicer than the Gatling Gun for example. If they stay on, then great. If not, just know that it was coming.

First post...Check the site from time to time as a guest for info on a buddy's Tacoma that had the frame replacement recall, but just registered today.

    ANYWAY...

I was trying to weed through all 15 pages, but figured that I'd cut to the chase...

    1. Is this GD still going?

    2. Saw that the initial links for the GD go to this page: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php?cPath=24

I got excited- the kit that I need is right on that page. I read a few more pages into this thread and saw this:

So in the list on TRS, the kit that I need is a "Retro-Quik" kit that uses special brackets on the Stage III kit. That being the case, does it fall under the GB parameters? I don't want to buy/pay and then get rejected and pay full price...I'll just wait until a GB occurs again on one of my "home" forums.

    Thanks!

Probably inconsequential, now that the GB exceeded 25 purchases, but...

Apollo shrouds. Mine didn't fit that tight with the ring and i actually glued them the first time but not well enough. The second time i made sure they weren't coming off. I used plastic epoxy so hopefully that doesn't get brittle.

So minor problem. When I'm driving my cutoff tends to bounce a little bit; I thought it was just because of normal bumps, but it seems that it happens out of proportion to the bumpiness of the road. Upon further investigation, I can apply a little pressure to the back of the headlight connection and get my cutoff to go up about 4 inches (when looking at a wall 25 feet away), and applying upward pressure results in the same movement downward. Any ideas? Loose bulb? If it is, any ideas on how to tighten it a bit? If the projector itself is loose (which I doubt, because it had no play in it when i resealed the headlights) then it's just something I'm going to have to live with because I'm not pulling these things apart again.

    Thoughts?

oh btw the movement is only vertical, there's no horizontal problems.

Does the bulb move around if you try to move it with your fingers? One of mine was loose so I took them out and tightened the inner nut (one that holds the projectors on). This gave me a few more threads to work with for the outer bulb nut. The extra threads allowed me to tighten down the bulb and it stopped moving.

Surprisingly, no. The bulb is tight and doesn't have any play in the back of the housing. argh

    possibly interested....

hopefully getting my hands on a pair or OEM heads this weekend and if i do then i'll be looking into this...

so the main difference between the FX-R and the Morimoto Mini is the FX-r has a wider projection and the Mini is easier to install, correct?

    i think i'm looking at..

    http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=237

    Morimoto 3Five
    Morimoto 3Five 5000K D2S
    Apollo Shrouds
    H4/9003 Relay...

does that sounds right for 2nd gen OEM housings?

has anyone gotten the CCFL Angel Eyes with their Retros yet?

    thanks..

From what I've read they help hide the cutting done to the original halogen bowls to fit in the projector. Kind of help give a cleaner finished look. And flexible adhesive makes sense to use as well. I'll probably PM you tonight for a GB
