I ran the regular Silverstars (not Ultra) in my old Ram, and they were a BIG improvement over the old stock bulbs (dimmed with age). They were still burning like 4 years later when I sold the truck. Working the hours I do I drive a lot in the dark and I was very pleased with them.

I've used Silverstars in previous vehicles and thought they were great. Never had issues with them burning out like others have mentioned.
If they were always going T-U then I would agree they are not worth it, but my experience was fine.

This thread is an awesome reference to the bulbs in our Tacoma's. I always double check this thread before ordering bulbs:

Those seem similar (maybe even the same) but the ones I had were Arctic Yellow. The ones I had were 2500k, 45W and looked identical to those Ebay ones though... Maybe golden yellow replaced the arctic yellow?

These are the ones I had: (the ones below are H11, Amazon is sold out of the H10 even though they are still listed. I purchased a set on Amazon and got an e-mail saying they're backordered)

Not buying silverstars again. I had 3 out of 4 fail within a week of each other altogether. 1 fog and 1 headlight within 1 day. The next week or so was another fog light. They lasted for about a year.

Good question. Thankfully, I have yet to experience a bulb failure. (FWIW, I installed my current set over three years ago.)

Also note that, like the Xtreme White bulbs Pugga mentioned, the Intense Whites have a blue appearance when off, but the light they throw is WHITE (not even tinted with the slightest hint of blue).

Funny I had a set of Silverstar Ultras sitting in a box on my shelf that I had taken out of my bike to put in HIDs and was surprised when I saw the tacoma called for the same bulbs (h4)...I put them in the truck today and barely noticed a difference. I'll be buying a set of DDMtunning Hid's within the next couple weeks. I have them on all my other vehicles and have had zero issues in years.
