HEY! JASON! air compressor please! and who said they'd bring air tools?! AND a set of sockets for said air tool?

 

Lowes and HD has plastic dip, in there paint dept.. I may come out and meet people, still a newbie though I can wrench.. Will let ya know in or out on Friday..
Closes HD is 59th ave south of 101.. lowes carefree and I17....

 

Ok guys, about 90% sure I will be there. I will be bringing my tools but here is my plan of attack...

Pull my tires off, crank up front coils, pull radiator fan & replace busted fan shroud!

 

okay well oh hot dam i may be there!!

i have saturday off, but working 3am-6pm today and tomorrow to get it off lol

 

I can bring buns and condiments. I'm more or less just gunna stand around and look at people's trucks unless someone needs a hand.

 

Well good job. Ive still not recieved an email/call from the job interview telling me WHERE/WHEN it is. so ummm yeah :/

 

AWESOME that will help out! There is a store only 3 miles from my house so we can easily do quick runs for the little things that I won't already have, too. Thanks for stepping up on this and offering to bring the buns and condiments. I'd say we probably need enough buns for about 20 burgers (to be safe) and probably a dozen or so dogs.

 

Just keep us posted and give me a call whenever you can make it. I'm sure there will be some of us out there working all day.

 

Soooo... I'm thinking it might be time to change the brakes. They're getting a little soft. Problem is I have never had to change drums. Anyone handy with this?

 

Anyone coming that's handy with wiring? I need to wire in my foglights

I've dabbled with a few different vehicles that had drums and had good success. Haven't worked on them on my Taco yet though. Happy to supervise!

How many miles do you have? If this is your first time changing the front pads than you can skip the rear for now. Usually get about twice as much mileage from rears

 

I'll be in the garage lookn for it...I think Brian said he had air tools and I think someone else is bringing a compressor as well.

You can usually just tighten up the rears so they bite earlier. Rears don't have as much travel, so as the pads wear you need to tighten them up a bit. Still good to get in there and check pads and the drum surface though, and give everything a good cleaning so it all articulates the way it should.

 

I'm @ 64k right now, on a 2009

 

Yeah the fronts should be the only ones needing chaning. Both are super easy though, front easier then rear.
