Shave caliper to fit Wheels?

    -LIFT: 5100 bilsteins all around (set at 0.85 in front) eibach coils 2" AAL -D-RINGS -BED COVER rollaway
    so at the end of the day I was convinced that the Micket Thompson Calssic ii wheels would fit on my 2011 sport DCSB Tacoma (RE: thread)

    they did not. Is it actually safe to shave the calipers to make them fit or should I start looking for a wheel?

    You can shave them and be alright.... however, why would you weaking the part of the vehicle responsible for stopping you? There is a lot of stress on the cast aluminum caliper, I wouldn't shave it down.

    I posted link to the thread that I started before purchasing these. Consensus was that they woulf fit no problem and that 4-7/16 backspacing was the way to go. Now it sounds like 3-5/8 backspacing is the way to go but I'm not so confident in the general consensus anymore
