I went by a dealership at lunch today & they had two 2012 Tacoma's. One was an Off Road 4x4 and the other one was a Sport Prerunner.

The Off Road has a 3 leaf pack and the Sport has a 4 leaf pack. Has anybody else noticed this and I wonder why the difference?

I wish they had more 2012's so I could see if the one Off Road I looked at was fluke or if all 4x4's have 3 leaf packs and Prerunner's have 4 leaf packs.

Was the 3 leaf one an access cab , and the 4 leaf one a doublecab ?

This seems to be how it is being reported in the 2012 mega derp thread

The Sport & Off Road were both double cabs, not access cabs.

From what I have seen the Sports have the 4 pack and the Off Road have the 3 pack on Double Cabs

Arent the TRD shocks blue and yellow ones? the four leaf pack next to them? The SR5 had the 4 leaf pack, people are saying the four leaf only came on the sport.

Thank you Sairs. I was looking for those pics. I will most likely buy one of these and would prefer the 4-leaf pack. Good news for me!

I wonder if having the tow package makes a difference? Or whether its all DC's (sans OR models) that have the 4-leaf.

Bump for an answer on whether or not the 4 leaf pack comes in the 2012 TRD Off-Road Double Cab Short Bed. I may buy one tomorrow. The truck WILL come with the tow package.

    Thanks,

    Rossi

My two day old DCSB SR5 has the four leaf pack. The SR5's (all of the 2012's I think?) come with the tow package.

If the dealer has the truck you want on the lot, I suggest you go and have a look at the exact truck you intend to buy, to be safe.
