Need advice on body mount bushings.

Hey.
I need some advice: my body mount bushings are worn out and in need of replacement: I'd like the comfy ride of the stock rubber, but I know they're going to wear out again.

Polyurethane don't do that. But is there a polyurethane option that won't transmit road vibration? Anyone know of a "soft" polyurethane bushing option and who might sell it?

i dont think the poly bushings would cause a terrible ride, when i took my bodylift off i bought these and ive been happy with them

Does the energy suspension kit come with all the ones you nee for the whole truck? Cab and bed?

 

Do you have to get new body mount bushings when you take off the lift? I'm close to pulling the trigger of taking off my body lift, I was hopeing it would be almost as simple as loosening bolts, raising the bed, pulling out the puck and then tightening bolts again.... are shorter bolts necesary?

 

No you don't have to replace them from what I hear. I'm not too sure though but it's recommended to change them anyway for a quieter cab when you drive.

I don't know, but if the body lift didn't require certain parts of the stock bushings you may not have all the parts to put it back to stock.

I'm in the process of taking mine off too, seems to be alot of that going around lately. My previous owner had the one on my truck put on so I've been doing alot of fixing his ghetto set ups the more I Learn about these trucks of what's good and whats bad

 

I put on the energy suspension bushing kit when I got rid of the bodylift, it had all the parts necessary for the cab and rad cradle except the nuts and bolts, but you will need shorter bolts for the bed but the bed is a straight bolt on unless you want to put a bit of a rubber gasket but I think it would just get squeezed out.

 

I searched TW and googled it.... but I'm not having luck on finding what the Stock Bolt Length/size/etc is for the 1st Gen Tacoma's for the body mount... anyone have that info so I can go to Ace and buy the proper bolts?

How was that body lift removal? I hear it's not too difficult but rather tedious? How did you lift/lower your cab? I'm thinking 2 floor jacks elevated on wood blocks on either side. I worry about the smoothness of the drop that I would get from floor jacks, I don't want to pinch or jam anything.

By the way what's the rad cradle?

 

if you have a couple of buddies come around and help lift the cab isnt too heavy and you only need to lift and few inches max, the bed my girlfriend and i moved no problem.

rad cradle- im guess the brackets that hold the radiator on the bl needs the radiator to sit lower than the stock location. mine where 4 pieces of flat strap with carriage bolts. it basically just made and extension. i just removed them and mounted the radiator back into stock position

the previous owner bought all the hardware directly through toyota, it was spendy but made my life so much easier when doing the body lift

 

You say only the bed uses smaller bolts? So van the cab reuse the same bolts used with the lift than?
