33's stock? can or cant

    Ok so this is a straight forward question but I thought i would ask. Can i put 33's on my 96? 4x4.
    All the tire places say you can and cant so there full of shit.

    stock, with no lift....no, you can't. Not even with trimming/hammering, etc....

    no you cannot fit them. I tried and failed.

    Ok not really, I just installed the 33's (true 33's, not those 285's that are really only 32.5's) 2 days before the lift. rubbed like crazy but it looked awesome.

    You can make them fit. Stock or 3" lift. Lift doesn't help as much as you think for tire fitment. Cutting is necessary and will always be when fitting tires bigger than stock.

    I put 33x12.5's with Bushwacker cut out fenders on the stock suspension and then preceded to make a 12 point K turn.

    +1....it depends on your definition of "fit." Sure you can throw em on, do some hammering, cutting, and filing, but they are still going to rub, no matter what.

    I ran 33's on my stock 16" wheels for over a year with no lift. I only had to trim a bit of plastic off my front bumper.
