It was $199 but I got a "loyalty" discount because I've had my Droid for 2 years. After 24 months vzw used to give you $50 off your next phone. Cheap bastards went down to $30 now, so u got it for $169.

    I just got it!

The Facebook/Apple relationship is a long and interesting debate. Suckerberg and Jobs have had many meetings, and Apple did originally ask to build the Facebook app for iPhone in the first place (that would have been amazing) but was turned down.

Then. It seemed the stars were finally aligning for iOS 5 and FB, but Jobs found that FB had been working with HP to make the first native tablet app for FB for the HP Touchpad. After the Touchpad bombed, things got confusing.

I keep up with this kind of stuff on various websites, my favorite being Cult of Mac. This is an article that was written a couple weeks before the iPhone event on the 4th, but it's an interesting read.

After reading reviews, they Lifeproof isn't that great. Being waterproof it really kills the sound, and I heard that the screen bows away from the iphone. For the price it is, I'm not that interested. Especially because it's their first foray into the world of Iphone Protection. Griffin and Otterbox have been at it for a while, and all the reading I've seen suggests the old otterboxes are better then the ones for the 4. Griffin gets top marks, and seeing as I use mine for work, it needs to be bombproof. Drug Calcs, protocols, pharmacology identification etc.

When I was still in EMS, I had the original Griffin - definitely a great case.

I have no experience with the LifeProof cases and have never seen them so it's good to hear from those of you who haven't been too lazy to read the reviews on them like myself. :p

I may still get one and see what it's all about and then return it if I don't like it.

In all honesty, I'm easier on phones now than I've ever been - they are either on my desk, in my hand or in the cupholder in my truck. I try not to put it in my pocket as one of my iPhones had major issues with the pocket lint getting in the ports and fucking it up.

Either way, I'm stoked to hear how everybody likes the 4S.

Well I'm sure the $270 was out the door (after taxes and fees). Activation fees are around $25-$35 on most carriers, then they tack on all kinds of other stupid fees.

I think you did just fine man.

To be perfectly honest, I wanted the Tough Shell, but it was more than I was willing to pay. If you're going to shell out for a lifeproof, can I recommend you have a gander at the Tough Shell first?

I highly recommend the Power Support HD Anti-Glare Film Set. I have had them on all of my iPhones since the very first one came out and I have zero regrets. Easy to apply, leave no residue, help fight against fingerprints, etc...

For some reason I don't see them Amazon right now, but the prices will not range very much. You can get them at AT&T, Verizon and I'm assuming Sprint, but they are usually packaged differently.

I would just hit up your local Apple store and pickup a set - or order them online. If you order them soon, they will get to you before the 4S does.

You're welcome man - glad I could help.

Let us know how you like it!

If this is about the MSRP talk a few posts up, there seemed to be some confusion. You only pay tax on the sale price at the time of purchase.

That's kind of what I was thinking too, but I will admit I have done very little research on them.
