Slim's HIDS?

I know customer service & shipping is great, for daily driving in city would you guys reccomend

6000k or 8000k

35w or 55w

Also, how long do your guys' typically last?

 

Of the two a 35watt 6000k, for better visibility a 5000k @35watts would provide a little more light.

 

^ Agree with what was said above. Anything above 5000K I would say you loose a little bit of light. The higher up the Kelvin scale, the more blue light you have and the less usable light you will have on the road.

 

What's the difference between 35w and 55w, any brightness?

 

i have 55w HID's all around low and hi, i have the 10k all around and find that they work great for driving light, and for thoses people who think its over kill with my projectors its not blinding to other drivers.

recommand 55w but 8k will give u a nice clear light.

 

35w and 5000K at most, I have 4300K

the differance can be compared to a 65w house hold bulb and a 100 w bulb......yeah get more light from it !

 

55w is overkill for every day use. 35w is plenty bright. If you want to be an asshole and blind every oncoming driver, then 55w will be good for you.

 

35 watt HID is already three times 'brighter' than 100 watts halogen at the best color.

The color temp. is best at 4300 to 5000 ºK. which is where you will find 'white-white', between yellow-white and blue-white.

Blue or violet light is not the best color to see well at night (Your stock halogen headlights are about 3500ºK). To even get enough usuable light at that color (over 5000ºK), you would be better to go up in wattage to overcome the poor color.

 

I just installed an HID kit. If my factory lights we alligned well, is there still a chance my new bulbs will be out of allignment? I didn't move the housing around at all....

So I taped my centerline onto a wall and backed up 25ft. Everything seemed to look pretty good. What are typical adjustments that need to be made? Also, i'm going to level my truck pretty soon so I'll have to adjust the lights down right?
