LOL I'm getting more next week I just don't want more then 1300lbs in the back of the truck. Once I start cutting I'm doing all the skids in one day all the DOM will be cut and the weld in bungs tapped "That's going to be fun tapping 80 weld in bungs:eek:" then I will bend and weld 5 at a time. Once the bending and welding starts it should go pretty quick I'm designing a jig in CAD to streamline the builds. It's going to be a big one man assembly line :D

So i was toying around with CAD last night and running the numbers for my costs and I'm thinking about upgrading the axle mounts on your skid plates and just nixing the U-bolts. Seeing how a have the CNC now I can play around with better mounting designs.

From the get go I wanted to do a clamping style axle mount but the cost of having them all cut in 1/2" plate would drive up the cost of the skids and I wanted my skid to be the most protected and lowest priced skid for Toyota trucks & SUV's.

I ran the numbers and the cost for me to make these would be just about the same as the U-bolts would cost :D and it's a way better design.

Now this is just an Option but I'm going to design them and auto nest the parts to see how much steel I will need and if it's around the same cost of U-bolts I'm going with the new mounts. I'll post up the CAD design this weekend to show you guys I know you will like it :spy:

kinda like this but there will be tube on the ends of the clamps not machined.

I think it's freaking awesome how your constantly trying to improve this design JLee!

Instead of someone that just makes something and call it quits. I dig the way you think man, and if you make more products for the Tacoma I'll definitely buy them. :)
