    hey all,

finally got my first truck and finally got rid of the jeep. it's an 03 double cab (good if you have kids) and a metallic black. the truck needs new shocks but I am not sure what kind to get.....any suggestions and input? thanks.

Shocks are like Pizza....there are sooo many different varities and I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of them.

    (Ok..so that was a stupid analogy...:D)

I can only tell you what NOT to get based on my experiences. I personally don't like Rancho...they're stiff, don't last long, and I've had a couple that leaked prematurely. I've also owned some OME struts - had problems with one of them leaking. They felt nice though. Obviously, my TRD has the TRD Bilsteins I think....and they're fine. I run Doestch Tech Prerunner shocks on my Jeep Wrangler. They're good also - but then again, that's my trail beater.

I personally don't believe in spending a lot on shocks cuz my butt doesn't really care how cushy/non cushy the ride is. I refuse to spend more than $50 on a shock. The Doetsch Tech Prerunner's are about $45 and have been standing up to my offroad abuse on the jeep for 3 years.
