holy crap david!!! i can't tell you how jealous i am that you got to sit in the raceworks raptor. i looked over that thing for at least 10 min...drooling the whole time of course.

but it did not have atrac on it ... so it is no good.

 

Not only sit in it but ride in it for a mile or two as Josh drove it out of the building, out to the street for a few blocks then over to the main parking area where the chase truck and trailer was. Even driving back to Oceanside from Pomona with it behind us was fun... getting thumbs up from cars passing us on the freeway, LOL!

 

Umm, I know you are having fun... but A-TRAC is a Toyota 4WD traction system and the Raptor is 2WD* (but with a solid spool differential).

*The Racework's Luxury Ford Raptor Prerunner is 2WD, not the factory production Ford Raptor. See the build video clips on YouTube... It starts out as a F-150, they use the cab, and that is about it.

 

so cool, so cool. i was hoping they were going to have one of them on display there and as soon as i saw a yellow truck in the distance when i walked in that building i got all excited lol

If you actually looked at the videos of the build of the two 'Luxury Prerunners', specially video #1, you would see that they are almost 0 % Ford factory product. They used the cab shell as a starting place, and that is it. This is a Trophy Truck (tube frame funny car/ racer) that is street legal (in AZ) and has comfort for the pre-running of the Baja 1000, Vegas to Reno and other desert races. The body is a Raptor look-alike, but that is the only Raptor in it. It is 2WD... no need for the hardware of 4WD (more things to break) when you are flying 90 mph on desert trails.

These two Luxury Prerunners are built from the ground up in Santee, Ca at Stewart's Raceworks by just few talented men. Seriously, watch the 5 part videos.

Again, it is in the videos and numerous comments ... I even posted photos under the front and back ends... the only differential was in the back. You are the one who posted Raprtors are 4WD AFTER my answer to someone about A-TRAC is only a 4WD system.

I thought you weren't going to read my posts anymore...? Obviously, you like to reply to everything I write here to try and make me look like I am wrong? It was you who butted in after I said the truck in my photos wasn't 4WD... and said 'Raptors are 4WD', as if I didn't know that.

Stop the pissing match Christian, I don't want to be your or anyone's enemy here. We should be here to have fun and celebrate our great trucks, maybe learn some new things?

 

It is the same 2WD Raptors that have been posted so much on TW that I can't believe you never saw them before... and not posted by me... I responded only to add that our son is one of the builders and when Part 5 came out, a link to it since Josh was in that one.

Again, I said it wasn't 4WD.. and you butted in wanting to correct me (again). So, say you're sorry or you made a mistake and move on, and stop talking about me...

 

I made an edit above in case there is anyone else who hasn't seen the Raptor build videos and feels they need to correct me when I say someting about a truck my step-son helped build.

Any comments about A-TRAC are meant to inform people who don't know about it, and not you... I know you have it, and you have said you regret getting the Off Road, as a fake hood scoop has more value to you than traction enhancement.
