Susan is right, Rob. You certainly have gone through a lot physically - things are sometimes just out of our control. And, not everyone can - or even should - serve in the military. There are so many factors that impact it. We're proud to have you here among us!!

Ended up getting Nokian Vatiiva for the Taco. Not my first choice but they had a much better snow rating than the OEMs and many others and they were in stock. I had them out for about 30 miles including 10 on the highway and they seemed to be more quiet than the OEMS. We'll see.

Susan.....No way did I take it as demeaning!
I've always believed that things happen for a reason, whether I realize it at the time or not. For some reason, maybe I wasn't supposed to serve. As a kid I wanted to be an airline pilot so I thought the Air Force would be the best first step to do that. But after being classified 4F by the Army the AF would not consider me either.
I will readily admit I was scared to death with the thought of going to Viet Nam. I had already had a very close friend go and within a few days return home in a bag from stepping on a land mine. There were so many more after that. Very mixed feelings at the time. But still...have regrets from not serving.

Morning All, wrong on the weekend next weekend is our hunt. Rob you are good with us your heart was in the right place but your face got in the way:cool:. Out of 8 pals from H.S. 4 of us ended up in V.N. 3 in the Army and me on the boats. The 4 smart ones went to collage. Only 2 of us are still in Orl. the other cat started buying and renting houses in 72 he now has 45 rent homes and lives in a nice lake house. Ive always been poor or middle class so its nice to know a cat who made it. We are real close as he nor I ever had any real blood brothers. We go at each other all the time as hes rich and far left and I'm poor and far right. Im still working on him but in 40 years he is still dum on the way it is. Our newest bet is who will be putting the other in the dirt. I know the SOB will out live me but cant tell him that. more on this later,,, Jim

Sounds like a good friendship, Jim!

Cut a bunch of grass today and then my son and I put some rounds downrange. He fired several of his new MILSURPS and I "exercised" my personal carry - a Kimber Ultra Carry II in .45 with a 3" barrel and Crimson Trace grips.

finally got on computer: little late. on the way to 2000 posts!! got front of yard mowed today, more rain coming. started out morning assembling a holly carb. for the "66". had a 855cfm. on and went back to the factory 830cfm. that's another crazy thing. chevy rated this holley at 780cfm. I have a letter from holley that says it flows 830cfm.; they should know.

    Morning all!

I've been up since about 5 - the dogs are my alarm clock. Another beautiful day here - supposed to get up to about 80 again. Still have a bit of grass to cut and pick up the clippings. Brain therapy for me.
