Opensource FTW, man. Go Droid- you can get better apps and customize it much more for free. IOS doesn't use flash. I hate my iPhone, but it's from my company so I can't really complain when it's free.

This is going to turn into a shit storm. :crapstorm:

Is the outcome of this going to weigh in on your choice of a phone to go with? If so, you can't just look at software.

Apple's biggest edge, in my opinion, is their hardware. It blows the competition away. Go pickup an HTC or Motorola phone (Thunderbolt, Vigor, Bionic, etc.) and then pick up an iPhone. You can instantly tell the difference - at least I can.

People are going to bitch about Apple not supporting Flash, but in the end, Flash isn't the best piece of software. It can suck down battery life and is often times unstable. I manage IT for a living and run into this all the time.

In the end, it all depends on what you are going to use your phone for. As I said, I manage IT for around 1,000 employees and I use my phone for a ton of stuff - SpeedTests on various networks, Remote Desktop access to the PC's I manage, Domain Administration, e-mail (I get around 500/day), remote security camera monitoring for our two Data Centers, and of course Tapatalk for TacomaWorld and Safari. I have never felt restricted by iOS; never once have I said to myself, "Damn! I wish I had an app for this and Apple just doesn't allow it!"

Be prepared for this thread to turn into another huge debate. Check out the iOS 5 and iPhone 5 thread...that's what happened over there.

I'm on my second droid.... should have went with the iphone last time but let my buddy that works for verizon talk me into the thunderbolt.

When it's working right, this phone is bad ass and blows all other phones away... but from time to time it freezes up. That's my only complaint.

    Here we go again...

iOS 5 is pretty much much a big ripoff of the Android platform, if that tells you anything...

    Oh, and Droid for me.

    Exactly.

If I found a product that I thought was good, but knew I could make it better you better believe I'd do it.

    :sadviolin:

Maybe iOS 5 will get it right this time since they are copying Android.

What are your complaints with iOS aside from it not being opensource and it not supporting Flash?

What experience do you have with iOS?

I'm asking these in a constructive manner, not trolling at all.

Pretty much all I need right there.

As far as experience goes, I started out with an iPhone. It was cool, I just liked the UI and customization of Android better. So after my contract was up, I ended up switching to Verizon and buying a Incredible. Been happy ever since. I have still yet to be impressed by anything the iPhone has come out with.

I can agree the iPhone hardware is awesome. I've dropped that thing many times and it's still going.

    Ok.

I was just curious and I understand your stance. I personally have no desire to modify anything on the iPhone. I pretty much leave it as-is right out of the box. I just add my apps (SoundHound, Pandora, etc...) to it, change some volume settings and ring tones and I'm done.

    Thanks for your response.

I personally have nothing against DROIDs and I have minimal experience with them, I just always like to find out what people hate so much about Apple/iOS.

Be cause someone told him it was better. IOS is so much smoother than any Android crap. It kills me how the same two versions (of the fifty or so out now) of Android don't even look/operate the same on different devices. Now, I'm not saying anything about providers, the big V has you covered, with LTE rolling out all over, AT&T is fast, (on 3G) but coverage doesn't seem on par.

O and to add to it, I just can't stand not being able to use a simple mini-USB to charge or transfer. And iTunes always freezes up during my movie transfers :(

I'm all about being technologically agnostic so I can handle either platform and bend them to my will :D

I've debated with him in other threads, he does know what he is talking about and has valid points.

I do agree that a lot of people with diehard opinions one way or the other simply go off of what they read or hear from friends. That's why I always ask the questions I did. I genuinely enjoy these types of debates, as long as they are constructive and intelligent.

Are you using iTunes for the PC by chance?

If so, I feel your pain. I have so many problems with it on my PC's. However, on my iMac and MacBook, I have no problems whatsoever. Frustrating to say the least.
