OP, something to think about: if you dont have a lift I wouldn't run an aftermarket bumper due to their weight. Stock bumper is around 40lbs IIRC, the lightest aftermarket bumpers are like 80lbs...might not seem like much extra weight, but I wouldnt run one on factory springs..

Good point! I was running 5100's and OME 880 coils before and after the ARB bar was installed. Afterwards the ride went to shit. Add a winch and there was nothing left in the suspension. Upgraded to OME Nitrocharger shocks and 882's. Ride went back to what it should be.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't even think about the effects of adding some weight in front of the axle. This is definitely something I'll have to keep in mind when ordering the parts for my lift. I'm looking for 2.5" - 3". Any suggestions? (this is a 2003 Xtra Cab V6 PreRunner)

Do you have a rear lift? if not, I think OME 881 coils will be good. But if you want to lift the rear and add weight to the front, 882s or Eibach springs would be better. 883s might be an option too, although there is some debate apparently over if they should be used on 1st gens since technically they are 2nd gen springs.

I really like the bumper Woolworth motorsports made for Jeff B http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/members/jeff-b.html i've been drooling over it for a while now.

Thanks for the tip on the springs. My truck is running stock suspension but I'm planning to lift front & rear. As for the weight in the front, all I plan to do (for now) is replace the bumper and add some lights.

WOW....couldn't agree more. Woolworth makes a killer Prerunner bumper! AND they're located in Vegas....sounds like the perfect excuse for a Vegas Trip!!

No she was not. But after the night I had had, she could have been a super model, and I still would have been pissed! But it would have made a great story to tell our kids!;)

Going on an x3 for that...ARB is tested and true. Although Elite is quite nice too.

Saw you went back to stock though...is it too late to beef up the front end?

    It's never too late!

I wanted to close the file on the accident asap, and since I had not yet decided on a bumper, I had the body shop replace all damaged parts with OEM pieces.

Once I install the lift and decide on the bumper, I'll either sell the stock one, or add to my collection of parts in the garage.
