    a lot lol
Well i work at walmart TLE for now while i try to get some school in too. So its def not permanent. But i find myself dealing with some pretty funny things sometimes i thought this would be a good thread to share some funny stories from work.

So today at work im in the middle of putting a battery in a Dodge Stratus. (if you have never dealt with those, DONT you have to take the whole damn wheel off!) haha. but i was the only one there, and its almost closing time (dark) a lady with a Irish accent pulls up in a old buick something? lol. her words" OMG MY LIGHTS WILL NOT COME ON, THEY USUALLY JUST COME ON!! BUT WHATS WRONG, CAN YOU FIX IT!!??" so i just reach in and turn the lights on. lol. what an idiot. sometimes i wonder how people make it in this world.

anyway thread may fail, who knows? but atleast its a thought. haha.

and for those who deal with customer service.

Here's a thought to the guy in the video, maybe u shouldn't be in customer service. Find another line of work and quit crying about how it sucks.

    ^this

I used to be a customer service supervisor at Burlington coat factory, so I dealt with all the difficult people. I actually kinda liked that job.

As for stories, one time at my old burlington job I was running a register. some lady in another line had her maybe 12 month old in a stroller, not strapped in. Well the kid ended up squirming out the bottom, sliding down and smacking his head on the ground. The stupid woman freaks out, picks up the kid as everyone is freaking out and I couldn't help but feel sorry for the kid, stupid woman.

I also got cursed out by some gigantic black guy because he didn't agree to our return poicy which is printed clearly on the back of every receipt (including the one he was trying to use for the return).

I used to work at Walmart.. I was ICS/unloader. You'd be surprised what comes off the trucks there  One time the frozen/dairy truck arrived late, almost time to get off for the night, of course.
Half the trailer was empty, and the driver didn't secure the other pallets in the front. They where scattered all over the trailer by the time he got to us. Eggs, yogurt, misc frozen foods all over the floor of the trailer.
So we had about an hour of overtime that night, and the managers blamed us. Not to mention the driver didn't lift a finger to help clean up his mess. There where many, many nights like that at Wally World. I quit after working there a year. Couldn't take the bull anymore. :)

Yeah, everything you hear about them is true. Not only did we have 3 guys to unload trucks at night, we had to do 3rd and 1st shift's jobs because it was "too much" for them. According to the managers. Then we got yelled at for not getting our jobs done. Not exaggerating the yelling part either. The managers would actually cuss us out in front of customers on the sales floor.
I've never shopped there since I quit, nor will I ever again.

I've got a lot of stories. I think one of the most reoccurring ones that pissed me off was when I worked on an armored car in KY/OH and filled ATMs. Some people thought they were so original and would come up behind me while loading an ATM and put a finger up to my back and say "Stick 'em up!" They thought I didn't have a sense of humor, they're lucky I didn't draw my weapon.
Even had it happen the same day two ATM couriers were shot and killed in Philadelphia.

Do you guys carry concealed while working that job? What kind of an idiot would pull that kind of stunt with a guy who has a pistol on his hip?

I know they are out there, just crazy to hear about them sometimes.

    Okay, here's a work story.

I'm an appliance repair technician, you know, like the Maytag guy. I spend most of my time listening to people tell me how long they have been doing laundry, how many refrigerators they've owned, how their new dishwasher is SUPPOSED to work, etc. As far as most of my customers are concerned, I was born in the dark early this morning and there is simply no way I could possibly have a clue what the hell I am doing.

So there is this rich couple that live 40 minutes past the last tiny town in our county, down a washboard dirt road. Their brand new ranch house on their several hundred thousand acre ranch is a good, solid hour away from my usual route.

First visit to this ranch, right after the house was finished: I go into the ranch office and announce why I am there. I am told the house is unlocked, no one is there. Go do your job and don't steal nutin, dude:rolleyes:. The complaint is that the light inside the brand new wine cooler won't shut off. I walk up to the cooler and observe a bright yellow paper tag hanging from one of the interior racks. It's clearly visible through the glass door with the light on inside. The tag explains the operation and location of the "display switch" that sets the interior light to stay on with the door closed, so everyone in your living room can see your expensive wine in your expensive wine cooler. I reach down and flip the switch, the light turns off. Go back out to the truck, drive back to the office and go inside. I tell the same girl what happened and present my bill for $85 for flipping a light switch.:D She looks behind her to make sure we are alone in the office and says to me "do you know that between the two of them, those people have 5 PHDs?"

Second visit to same place: The owner is complaining that his upper half of his built in double oven won't heat. I show up and he's home this time. He answers the door and says "who are you" I say I'm the appliance guy and I'm here to fix your oven. He say's "I'm baking a pie right now" (in the lower oven). "Come back in an hour." SERIOUSLY? I said "you're an hour away from anywhere else I need to be today, it's either right now as scheduled, or another service fee will be charged to come back out". He says no one told him I was coming. I told him he ought to talk to his people and find out why they scheduled me to work on his oven while he was baking a pie. He gets mad and says he won't pay the service call. I told him to find someone else who will drive all the way out to his house. (it's us and SEARS, no one else is that eager to lose money).

Tons of money, three ranches in three different states I'm told, multiple PHDs, not one ounce of common sense.

I carried an M1911, I don't think they'd allow us to carry concealed IIRC. I got sick of people walking behind be, so when I could (usually in gas stations) I would move a newspaper rack or something between me and the shelving behind me to block that route. So instead of walking behind me, they were now climbing over me! WTF!?

    That's KY for you I guess.:anonymous:
