09 access cab problems 6spd

Havnt brought it to the dealer yet but im seeing if anyone has had this issue also.

when i let the clutch out in first get the truck jumps on me, no matter how slow i do it. its almost like wheel hop, but im not burning out or anything. it seems to be worse when im taking off to go around a corner.

kind of feels like i have a locked rear diff, but the truck doesnt have a locker in it.

i only notice it when im getting going in first. and it seems to be worse if there is any weight in the bed.

truck has 800 miles on it, and its bothering me. its just a sr5 not the trd or the sport

 

anyone else ?

 

First gear is low, and if you pop the clutch it can be jumpy, but a normal clutch let out there shouldnt be any 'jump'. I'd go see the dealer.

 

I agree, first gear is geared quite low (I'll often start in second unless I'm pointed uphill) but there shouldn't be any noticeable hop or jump.

 

Keep in mind that when you are cornering you are taking weight off of the inside rear tire and that will make it much easier to spin, if the road is wet or loose dirt or gravel it will be even easier for the truck to spin the tires.

its like driving a car with a locker on the street with slicks.... but its a truck with out a locker and street tires

 

Mine is an auto, so I gotta ask: is this clutch hydraulic or cable operated?

If cable I'd suspect the cable is just not adjusted properly, or it's a kinked or defective cable.

On cable or hydraulic there could be a loose bolt at any of the brackets.

A too-high idle might also cause this, but you'd see that from the tach right away.

That was my best guess, I do not have a clue what would cause that but I think a trip to the dealer is in order. Please let us know when you find out what is wrong.
