Bed AC Outlet Question

Does anyone know if my 2006 Double Cab SR5 4x4 has wiring in place behind the bed box on the passenger side to accept an AC outlet? The AC outlet was not available on my truck when I bought it but I was wondering if I bought the box with the AC outlet from a salvage yard, could I just "plug it in" on my truck?

 

I think you need the inverter too which is located under the center console. When I removed the console in my '07 SR5 to install my CB, I didn't see any sort of existing harness there.

 

You will need the inverter which goes between the seats on an Access cab, the wiring front the inverter to the rear plug.

If memory serves me correctly there is already the wiring under the center console to power the inverter. Alteast it was on my 09.

Its more than the inverter, harness and plug. You also need the button, harness from inverter to fuse box, harness from inverter to button, relay, etc.. Its much easier to wire in aftermarket inverter.

 

Sorry forgot to add the button, but it is pre-wired in my 09, I just pulled the cap for where the switch was and its all pre-wired.

I can always compare the harness out of the 2006 TRD Sport with my SR5 harness in the truck.

Honestly from what I have found Toyota uses the same harnesses and just doesn't include the accessories or fuses to make them work. Ever put factory fog lights onto an SR5, it takes about 5 minutes to add the fuse/relay, pop out the light covers, plug in the lights (That are PRE-wired), pop the cap off and plug in the switch.

The only change that I have found is on the rear harness (the inverter is no way connected to this harness) for the towing package vs. the SR5 package.
