    They are not both theories.. theories indicate scientific proof that is widely accepted. ie evolution- it happens regardless of the religion.

    Evolution happens regardless of religion or anything else.. its a scientific principle... You cant just NOT teach things because you dont like them.. because they interfere with your religious beliefs.

    If you take two organisms and put one in a cave and one in the light.. check back in a few years.. they will both be different.. they have both adapted.. or in other words Evolved.. it happens.. its not a religion, it has NOTHING to do with religion, its observable.

    I agree that evolution happens...but I dont believe that Humans evolved from some primate like being. Humans have always been humans, we have just adapted over time. I just have a hard time believing that a species would evolve to use reason and not just run on survival instincts...that's just me tho.

    You're making assumptions based on responses to my post. I said that if evolution is to be taught as fact, shouldn't it be proven? I did not say that theory shouldn't be taught in the classroom. I also said that it's an opportunity for conversation In the classroom.

    You're right, I did deflect the intent of your post, but only to bring up the point that creationism has to do with the origin of life specifically, and evolution does not - more so the progression of life thereafter. So I feel like we're trying to compare apples to oranges. Although they are both related, and if one believes in creationism it's hard to believe in evolution - and vice versa.

    Back to evolution being taught in school. I'm not sure if it's usually taught as theory or fact. Microevolution is accepted as fact, macroevolution is not. They in fact have very different definitions.
