Did you remove the springs and stretch them out also ? This way they will give more pressure up against the magnets and create tighter tolerance ? I also lubed up the rubber pads that attach on the sides of the casing.

No. I just lubed the bushings, and such.

A member was saying that when the motor was running he pressed on the rubber on the casing and the sound went away. And pressing on the rubber causes the spring to have more tension. I figured it could possibly be a tension issue on the spring somehow causing the noise. I'll keep this thread updated on how it goes but outside of me I have not heard of one single person stretching out the spring to give it more tension. Fingers crossed if thats the real issue at hand.

That was me, back in post #440 on page 22 of this same thread. Link

Before I took mine apart I found pressing on both rubber blocks simultaneously while the motor was running caused the chirping to go away. If you look at the 2nd picture in my post, you will see that pressing there doesn't increase spring pressure on the brushes, because they are mounted in a hard plastic carrier. Pressing on the rubber puts pressure between the plastic brush carrier and the metal clip interface which the spring and brush are attached to. I my case I never stretched the brush springs, but I did put a dab of grease on them to damp any vibrations and prevent rubbing against nearby materials. I also put grease between the metal clip of the brush and the plastic brush carrier housing, and also a dab in the rubber insert too.

For what it's worth it's been 5 months and mine is still perfectly quiet through summer and now in cooler temps as well. We'll see how much longer it goes.

Guys there is no "new" motor design being installed. Talk to my service guy and he said toyota is still replacing them with the same old junk. Hence why I just decided to take mine apart. No way in hell am I going to go through another winter with Alvin the chipmunk dying in my glovebox

Razorecko---I couldn't have said it better myself. My 2010 is on its' 2nd replacement motor...and this one is now squeaking worse than the first two! I'm going to bring it back to the dealer yet again when I go to have my broken fuel door replaced!

Mine is a 2010 as well and my 2nd one just started making noises slightly so I will probably going in at the time of my oil change and have them put a new one in yet again.

Finally got my blower motor replaced today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this one will last longer than the first. I'm at 48 000 kms on the ODO.

Don't know if they added an insulation kit or not, the paper work doesn't mention it.

Went in to get mine fixed last week. They put the insulating kit but used my old sqeaky motor. It didn't work from the moment I drove it away from the dealership. It was closing time and I figured I'd bring it up in 3K miles when I go for the 25K service.

^ This is the TYC fan. Mine didn't chirp after last winter. We'll see if it will survive this winter.

If yours lasted more than 3-4 months it did better than the one the dealer put in...

It's a faulty design, not even worth replacing tbh... just grease it every few months instead.

Hello, Im a newb here. I had an '06 Taco with this blower motor issue...and now I have a 2010 Taco thats doing the same thing. The darn thing is driving me nuts!!! I took it to the dealer last month and they told me that Toyota is supposed to release a 'new' blower model sometime in October. They didn't fix\replace the motor, but told me to call later in the month to see if the new model has been released. I called the dealer today. They told me it hasn't been released yet. Has anyone else heard this? Also has anyone tried the VDO aftermarket blower motor? Im thinking of replacing it myself since Toyota keeps failing to address the issue.
