iOS 5 and iPhone 4S

im staying up til midnight to try and update it to ios5, i heard the 12th is the release for it and im super down to waste a few hours of sleep to get it sooner lol!

 

Siri is a free app and is available for the 4 also. I use it all the time.

 

Once the 4S is released, the regular Siri app will be dead, FYI

 

its officially the 12th here and no ios5 yet haaha

 

My friend who im getting the iPhone from said he checked his status online and its supposed to come the 21st now!!!! Not the 14th!!!!!! WTF! I broke my phone a week ago and was hoping to have one this week. So now my lifeproof case is going to get here with no phone Pisssss man

iOS 5 GM and iTunes 10.5 has been available here for a week or 2.

I installed on my iPad2 and I like it a lot.

 

FYI - for those of you wondering about shipping. Here's how new products get shipped from Apple.

1. They are all made somewhere in China usually.
2. Wherever the product is made the entire release day shipment goes to Hong Kong.
3. It then goes from Hong Kong to Anchorage Alaska.
4. In Alaska the shipment is split up between UPS and FedEx and broken into regional shipments.
5. Regional shipments then fly out. All of this so far happens in about a day.
6. The shipments are then broken down for their final destination, stores/residences/etc.

Now, those of you that ordered through the carrier this is where it gets tricky. Not sure how it works, they may get a certain number they are allowed to ship direct from Apple. Or they may just reserve a certain number of their order to be shipped out to the consumer as soon as they get it which is why some of you are being told a week later. They have to receive it and reship it.

The bottom line is if you want a release day product from Apple, you always always always order it from Apple directly. You will definitely get it on (or before) release day. I got my iPhone 4 the day before release. I got my old MacBook Pro the day before release. It happens alot because you are getting the same shipping as the retail stores which get them the day before so they have them ready for release.

True - but not everybody is comfortable jumping the gun on software.

I've been running the iOS 5 Dev Release since it was first available in the Dev Center and it rocks. Extremely stable!

I'm stoked to update my personal iPhone in a few hours.

After the 14th, the next time you sync it will be removed.

 

It has already been shut down. Mine stopped working yesterday when I synced.

It will most likely be more powerful, faster and have a few more features now that it is integrated with the OS and solely on the 4S...for now...

For reals...my iPhone 4 lock button is stuck so Verizon is sending me a new one today lol....but I know I'll get the 4s asap
