Backpack Hook/rear storage

Made a small 1st gen/2nd gen/land cruiser discovery that some people may find useful.

A few months ago I bought a couple of these backpack hooks for my 96 land cruiser to keep my things from sliding around in the back seat and floorboard. http://ajikoverlandexchange.com/products.php -"MPAC backpack and accessories hook" listed about halfway down the page.

Ive been searching for a Tacoma and was looking at a 1994 one day and noticed the headrest posts looked similar to my cruisers. So I tested fitment to see if they'd work in it. Perfect fit.



I also checked fitment on a second gen my coworker had just bought. The post holes are spaced perfectly the holes just need to be enlarged a little to work.



Anyway, these are handy little hooks that i use daily and i thought id pass my discovery along
"The hook will easily support essential gear and allow easy access to the pack and its contents. Since the back pack hook attaches to the head rest post, the packs will not be occupying the seat or the cargo floor…and that allows more room for other essential cargo. cool but i just through the backpack arm over the headrest

 

I like that a lot bit it's not worth 30 bucks to me.

They're useful to me so I'm happy with the investment. what I carry the mail in at work I can't sling over the headrest.

 

oohhh.... I'm all over that like white on rice! I usually carry my SAR pack in the truck but don't like having it on the rear seat as I cant easily access anything if I'm sitting in the front. This little gem just saved me a lot of headaches.

I wont be buying one, however. I happen to have some 12g stainless plate kicking around... time to get to work!

 

I think that kind of thing was what they had in mind when designing them.
