A Miracle goes against the laws of nature, something we cannot control.. like surviving a terminal illness. Committing a crime is something that we can control in ourselves. It takes a conscious decision to commit a crime, we were given brains for a reason.

There are transitional fossil records? and..."Not completely.....but enough" doesn't give enough rock solid evidence for me....Isn't a dodo bird and a flamingo bird, still a bird? Natural selection is observable. Evolution, which I'll say again, ADDS information to the DNA and cause the species to change to another, completely different species.....such as from a bird to a frog.

You're saying a person can't choose to create their own miracles? You survivie a terminal illness due to your attitude or medicine...or just being lucky. And what about for the victims? They chose to be beaten? Murdered?

Well, I could give anyone such as yourself having so much strong faith and staying the path credit. I myself, I don't need to have faith in anything other than myself. If there's a God and he doesn't think the world is in one hell of a need of him to intervene right now, then he's obviously getting one big ass kick out of current day events. And of of the thousands of innocent being killed, and suffering, the crack babies being born straight into misery, all for what ? You're going to tell me for a lesson ? Pretty sick way of teaching a lesson if you ask me. And this is why I say B.S.

I don't deliberately discredit or belittle someone such as yourself for having the faith you do. But when you try to throw religious reasoning behind my examples by way of the bible, I must raise the B.S. flag. I don't believe there IS any reason, it's called "own free will" and "poor personal choices"

Why do you keep using such absurd analogies for evolution? Adaptation and evolution are one and the same. Evolution could perhaps encompany the entire change to a species from point A to point B but the small adaptations over time still make up what happens in that period of evolution.

Well, first I'll correct you after I realized you were wrong. Evolution doesn't ADD DNA to anything. It's the slow and progressive CHANGE of a DNA string.

Again, I'm not 100% in favor of the evolution theory, I'd say I'm not quite sure. There are things that support it, and things that don't quite fit. Just like the Bible, except it has way less tangible evidence to support it.

Natural Selection would be the example of the Dodo, Flamingo and others. Since it states in basic "survival of the fittest", hence the human race and the drastic rise of the jellyfish population.

For our own evolution. Obviously the Ape is still here, and have you heard of the Dwarf fossils found ? I think in India ? Not confirmed by science, but believed to possibly be the missing link in our own evolution.

Dinosaurs versus current day reptilians. That's not evolution ? What is it then ?

No, if someone was to create their own Miracle, that would defeat the whole purpose of calling it a Miracle. They're considered victims for a reason, someone consciously decided to commit an atrocious crime.. of course they didn't chose to be beaten or murdered.

If you're going to tell me I'm wrong, then what you preach is that your God creates life and takes it away in the blink of an eye all for a lesson, or just to make another individual stronger. I'm sorry, I have too much respect and appreciation for human life to believe in something like that, especially since I have a 4mo old son.

ok, so the very first single cell that started evolution carried all of the DNA needed for every living thing as we know it today? Don't get mad or frustrated, but that is what you are saying then if DNA is not added somewhere along the line. And if that is the case, then we should of instantly had all of the species as soon as the cells started splitting.

Dwarf fossils as a transition? I know a dwarf, and he is still a human like me.

Reptiles are, and will always be, reptiles. Humans are, and will always be, humans, unless we evolve into another new species some day, which should happen if evolution is true. And for this to happen we would have to get some new DNA introduced into our genetic makeup.......reminds me of The Fly, what an awesome movie back in the day huh?

So then, your God caused the other person to commit the malicious crime ? Or created a mentally unstable human to go around taking family members to teach lessons and make people emotionally stronger ? Pfffff, come on man, who are we really fooling here ?

I'm just saying miracles (or even just positive things in life, as simple as a job promotion) happen without there necessarily being a higher power that intervened. And you said the evil done by man is a conscious thing over which god has no impact...so I countered by asking what kind of conscious thought did the victims have in that crime. All just speculation of course, but it doesn't make sense to give god credit for miracles but not all the demoral acts that occur as well.

First off, don't say "your God" and accuse me of believing in a God that created this world that we live in today. I'm not trying to make this a personal argument, if you were observant of my posts, you would see that. I'm not trying to fool anyone.

However, from what I understand of actual Dwarves, there are signs of mutations in their bone structure... The fossils found were full grown normal skeletons, just smaller as in 3 feet tall or so and everything being proportionate, there was even an infant fossil found with one. It was in an issue of National Geographic I estimate about 3 years go maybe. I'm not sure if any other conclusion were drawn from them.

Now, about your statement of evolution. I agree, there are some missing links like what you pointed out. However, if you're throwing this example up in the face of science in favor of the Bible, then what do you make of the many species and occurences with the planet that never made it into the story of the Bible ????

I agree, and I'm not trying to make it personal either, and I apologize. I haven't read every single post... I will word my statements more general next time... It's an interesting conversation, I'm not trying to be offensive, sorry if I seem that way.

    :sorry:

Thank you for your kind words. I agree that this world is in very real need of intervention. I am not just saying it is a lesson, but more of a precedent. The question of whether God has the right to rule has to be answered. The only way it can be answered is to let man-rule run it's inevitable course. My previous post was a "Cliff Notes" summary of the Bible. The promise from God is that he will undo all of the evil that has happened, even bringing back the dead by means of a resurrection.

Interestingly, the Bible makes a point very similar to yours, 'We reap what we sow". Good decisions usually result in good outcomes and vice versa. I respect your position and understand how the hypocrisy of religion can have a negative impact. I was raised in a particular religion and the pastor of our church ran off with his secretary, leaving his wife. The next Sunday he was in the pulpit sobbingly saying that he had sinned and please forgive him. He still divorced his wife and married the secretary and he was still the pastor. Even at 10 I knew that wasn't right. Mainstream religions of today all too often wink at what is not right while ignoring what the very book they claim to reverence has to say on the matter. Racism, sexism and sexual misconduct are condemned in the Bible they read from on Sunday morning, but are practiced in the homes of some members of the church or even the preacher on the pulpit.

I am not saying we should expect perfection from a man, but if someone cannot live by what they teach, they should let someone who is be the teacher. Religions that allow these things to occur are referred to as "Babylon the Great" in Revelation. They have perverted the Bible's teachings and it is becoming ever more obvious that they are part of the problem.

Agreed with that, it's become a scapegoat for many. I can't name how many inmates have declared their now men of christ; anything to shorten that prison sentence.

From what I have studied and found, mutations are a loss of DNA information.

I would be curious if you are talking about whole species that no longer exist, or if you are talking about animals within certain species where the certain animals are gone, but their species still survives.

Only thing I could think of quickly would be a saber tooth tiger is extinct, but the cat species is still here.

The Bible covers the creation of all species.

I would like to repeat that I believe science has helped to prove to me that evolution can't work, and that creation can work. But this is just me and what I have studied. I'm in no way saying you, or anyone in this thread has to come to the same conclusion soley on what I type.

That's another issue with the Bible altogether....

The Bible would tell me to go ahead and forgive those men. "Ok, I'm a man of god, you are forgiven for your wrongs, for it is wrong for me to hate or hold your wrong-doings against you and take any retribution. You're free to walk." Oh, look at that, you went and stole a gun and killed the everyone standing in a bank. "I'm sorry, please forgive me, I've sinned again, I look to the Jesus to make me a better man"... Ok, the Bible tells me to forgive you (Forgive us our trespasses, for we forgive those who trespass against us)... Ohhh, look at that, you killed someone yet again...

Do you see the problem I have with some of the things the Bible tells us to do ? Even though as a society we haven't really practiced this, the Bible certainly doesn't say to lock someone away for life or give them the death penalty.

Short of it telling us to be a good citizen in general, I can only scoff at much of it.

Absolutely, I can agree to disagree.... and I know there are examples on each side... I haven't gone out of my way to go out google jockeying to find any of those examples. I state my "opinion" based on the examples and life I've been exposed to.

This thread is serving as good entertainment and conversation, nothing more, I don't think anyone should take anything personal or develop an opinion from it.
