I'm alright w/o for now. My truck is so SAF that I don't need to rock a sticker. You all are just trying to keep up.

Welcome. Let me know if you need any bumpers/sliders or what not. I seem to be the one to go to at the moment. I'll same you some money over some of the other vendors. You can ask some of the guys about my work and they can vouch for the quality. Again welcome.

Okay all so here is my plan. Those that want Sliders need to let me know and preferably get me about 100 as kind of a deposit on them. If I can get a list of everything I can go and get the metal and start on them. If i can get all the tubing cut and decided for everyone all at one it will save me some time. Also it is gonna cost me a little more because the mounting plates I used on mine i am going to have the metal shop cut for me. This will again save me some time because I won't have to stand in front of a bandsaw for hours to cut the pieces. This way i can get the product done faster and get them on your guys truck.

Post up and let me know. I was hoping to go get metal on Monday so if I could get some cash from those that want theirs done by maybe Sunday if that is possible. If not let me know as well and i will work with you to figure it out.

    you bettah be kidding!!!
Not hard at all. I keep up (for the most part) with 2wd and 31" all-terrains.... You will be absolutely fine. :D Plus, with a whole group going, getting stuck is a problem usually fixed in less than a minute. lol

Yous said you're looking for a front locker so I guess that means your already locked in the rear? In that case you have a huge advantage over most of the guys going anyway! haha

i actaully dont have a rear locker. everybody i know locks the front first so that it helps pull you over obstacles and also becuase lockers arnt perfect so in the rear it will tear up your tires more. just what ive heard

Lockers are SAF. I run a Detroit True-Trak LSD in the back, which is pretty tight, but not a 100% lock-up. Once a rear tire's in the air, it's down to using the e-brake to trick the LSD into working.

Do you guys think sliders would be a good idea for my truck? It's at stock ride height, an '04 gen 1 reg. cab. I don't usually bash it through the rocks, but I've seen what they can do to the bodywork. Or are there other mods that should come first, such as a lift, bigger tires, gearing ($$$$!) etc.?

I could really use your input.

    Welcome to the forum. :)

I use my all-terrains in the sand, and mud-terrains for, well, mud. :D

I actually have 3 sets of tires mounted, but my 31" 10.50-15 BFG Mud-terrains need to be slimed (too much cactus) and one has a nail in it. I'd lend them to you for the 6th if they were in better shape, sorry.

Oh, ok, interesting. I haven't heard that before... makes sense though
One of the best mods that can be done on a first gen taco, imho. It costs $15, easy to install, has proven hp gains, and it sounds great! :D It's kinda like a cheap CAI.....

When I first did put in the deckplate I ran into some problems with the engine running a little lean, and then the engine flooding and shuddering off, but when I reset the EFI fuse I haven't had a problem since! lol :D So when you do it, remember to reset the EFI fuse and you'll be good, haha.
Oh nice! I didn't know Cinco had a locker too.... you giys really are twitches...
I think most people on this forum would say sliders first, then lift/tires, gearing. but i did the lift first..... so i don't know
hey, if you want to, I'll fix the one with the nail for free. (not if you put slime in it though.... lol) i can take it to work with me, and plug and patch it on my luch break.

That's very cool of you; maybe we could get together & I could buy your mudflaps then. I might try to talk you into taking some pics of my SAF truck to post here as well. :D

You think slime's a bad idea? My regular tire guy says my muds have a bunch of very small holes; they have slow leaks from that. Too many tiny holes to patch, IIRC. I bought a gallon of slime, but haven't used it yet. Does it mess up your tire gauge, and/or make it impossible to balance the tires?
